Exactly what I was going to post about. This is the real market SWTOR is going after - the one that makes you a mainstream MMO, and not just another niche MMO for the hardcore whiners on this forum.

What this AP review, reprinted by NPR, really means is that SWTOR has smartly weathered the initial rush of more intense gamers that were going to try SWTOR but may be disappointed in its differences from WoW/EVE/SWG/Rift/EQ2/etc. and now is marketing to their primary audience - casual gamers/people that want to try something new. I expect commercials on TV soon, and that will cause a smooth influx of these types of players.

Meanwhile, they will fix their missing MMO pieces and also try to provide a great place for the more experience MMO gamer going forward, if they are patient.

Can I make guesses on overall subscription count based on these graphs?
No you shouldn't be relying on them to make so guesses. These graph purely relies on instantaneous server population values provided by Bioware, nothing more.

Apparently anything not praising the game is rude and non constructive.
Hard mode: Play Republic
Nightmare mode: Play Republic on a pvp server

LOL...I am almost positive this is a clever troll attempt.

No, it was the name-calling.

maybe you can show us some more of that fox news video game expertise that was on display when they called Mass Effect a **** simulator.

I cut the cord with them that day. Was the worst piece of "journalistic" work I've ever seen.

It should. It's accessible (AbleGamers award), relatively simple, and has a lot of cutscenes. It's a solid game for a single playthrough (or trying multiple classes). That's what I'd guess most first-time "casual" game purchasers are looking for. Not a new home for years, but a game they can enjoy for a few weeks then put down with the rest of the games they purchase. The positive reviews are all about playing for a bit while leveling up and following the storyline.

Pretty much and really that is the same market that WoW lost millions of subscribers from...folks are expeting Mike Morhaime to tell investors that another 800k to 1 million more subs have been lost at the upcoming investors conference call....

I think this has been a pretty big wake up call to the industry Blizzard tried that whole back to Vanilla and Dungeons are hard thing and now they are scrambling and doing everything except taking you by the hand and walking you to Deathwing to get those players back; meanwhile (despite what the last few vestiges of the hate machine says) TOR is growing...I mean hell Ebon Hawk has had a queue again the last couple nights.... I just don't think we will see another Raid or Die MMO in quite some time.

G4 TV X-Play rates it a 5 of 5 with some notes,
they could use better tutorials for crafting, the UI is rigid, some companion responses are repeatative and their tag line for the episode was "join the dark side of MMOs" thus creating more empire players

Would agree with the above posts, Casual's are the marketshare and companies should be focusing on them and this game especially giving us companions nails it.

How would this be a troll? It's a positive review, I didn't write it, and it's from a credible source.
