It was extra special that I did it myself and it was rare for people to actually have a full profession so the economy thrived from it but in SWTOR they seem actually pointless and economy is dead (removing another option to enjoy yourself)

Therefore other than your 3 points there is absolutely nothing. Single player rpg is what this is, it needs changing fast and I mean a large patch replacing all planets as a free roam. I played WoW and Rift and all the zones in both these games are free roam and not corridor style. You could venture up a mountain and climb over the other side whilst in star wars it is just a pile of fail. Also with WoW and Rift there was different options to level etc.

Sorry but way to over hyped. Bring mini games for cantina or something else fast to keep us occupied whilst you re-make EVERYTHING.

Example: In tatooine you see a whole landscape, you run past the water gather things and get a timer to exit. I can see in the distance a quest hub and buildings but I cannot free roam across the sand to get there.

My anger cannot express how pathetic this is.

The only thing that I can do now is wait for guild wars 2 but I will continue to play this game. Just 100% guarantee you I will go to guild wars 2 when it is released bioware unless you make this game have features that I cannot refuse compared to guild wars 2 but currently I see nothing.

Also to add to my anger:

The "Whats to come" includes (this is meant to excite us and make us happy):
The developers speaking excited and enthusiastic about creating guild bank? *** a guild bank? Well done bioware you succeeded to fail again. The excitement expressed felt like it was some kind of revolution "omg a guild bank, something original" but no. I am not excited about this and I don't think anyone else is because it is so basic to MMOs now that it should have been implemented already.
Also Legacy: seems boring imo but new so should be fine
New warzones: Three at start was pretty pathetic but an increase in content should just be second nature to MMO.
New flashpoint: Again new content, nothing to be excited about. Just like every MMO updates.

So yer, they have continued to give us no more multiplayer options. Still the basic PvE flashpoints and PvP warzones/zones.

Quite frankly 300m wasted. Well done you absolute *****. What a waste of money.
Haha!

Angry person is funny.

I don't think I could agree with one single point of this post.

I could see people not giving the game 5 stars, but the pure hatred that is evident simply bewilders me.
People need to realize that places like this forum and Amazon reviews are major targets for people to astroturf their opinion to make it look like more people hold that same opinion. As an example, Tea Party weirdos, funded by Koch Industries, were taught to go to Amazon and search for "liberal" books, then rate them very low and post a scathing review. Don't believe me? Check out how hilarious the reviews are for Karl Marx's "The Communist Manifesto." In any event, given the ease with which people can use these sites in an attempt to manipulate the appearance of what the majority public opinion really is, I find it impossible to believe that places like Amazon (where people would be making a purchasing decision on the game) or the forums (where people will sometimes come to get a sense of customer satisfaction), etc., aren't completely overrun by, let's say, Blizzard employees or WoW "fanboiz" etc., trying to make it look like SWTOR is a disaster...just like I wouldn't be suprised to find out that Bioware and EA send out their own troops to give good reviews. Simply put, you can't trust a bit of it, period.

Thats what I might do. I made another character and got it to 50 hoping 1.1 would deliver more. It was a giant dissapointment. I waited with baited breath for years for this game, so I figure I will wait to 1.2 before I leave, however with SO few posts from devs (frankly, surprisingly few) I have no clear idea of what to expect. The communication from the dev team is piddly compared to other games, even those that have freshly launched. Trion dev tracker the week of launch was full of activity, lots of announcements, dev discussions, querying people for opinions, etc. If you dont believe me go to their dev forum and go back to page 1 and check it out.

Meanwhile our dev tracker is pretty lame, finding posts from Goerge(sp?) shows 2-3 posts a day, most are about bugs, thats it. The only thing I know about 1.2 is "bug fixes" and potentially "guild bank". The later would only matter if crafting made any sense in this game, but it doesnt (if your reading this and are not biochem, I apologize to you. Hopefully other professions will have a reason to exist in the future).

What I see now is this.

1) The game floods you with abilities, but has no macro system. I understand some folks dont like it, and in some games its acceptable to not have them. In systems that have tons and tons of abilities that you regularly use however, I find this unacceptable. I have all 4 quick bars full of abilities I regularly use as an Assassin tank, and I do not see it as improving my gameplay to operate like that. The fact macros dont exist at release seems utterly silly.

2) You cannot customize the UI in any way. At release almost every modern MMO has this, from much smaller companies than BW.

3) This engine is FULL OF BUGS. If it was a few bugs (regardless of how bad they were in scope of gameplay) I would be ok with it, but frankly going to any class forum you will see a string of bugs, and more and more being posted every day. However patches so far are infrequent and rather slim in terms of what they are addressing.

--There seems to be a very real lack of man power on the development side to keep up with all the bugs and issues while still expecting them to release new features.

4) PTR does not allow for pregened level 50's, something that has been brought up for weeks, even during the beta. During the beta there were 2 periods where players were given high level characters for 1-2 days to test the content on a separate server. Due to the limited scope and open way it was handled, very few groups actually tested any end game content. You see the fruits of those labors being enjoyed now.

5) PvP is poor overall. While Huttball is quit fun and inventive, the other 2 WZ show a lack of creativity (they are reskined WoW warzones). There is no vehichle based pvp and none has been announced. There is some cryptic notion of space combat (someday, maybe) but I do not see how that is going to come about at this rate.

6)Light/Dark Side ultimately mean nothing: (dont read for spoilers). You can go either way, but the way your class quests seem to end has no baring. You dont really have freedom within your plot. Its just an illusion of choices and a few different scripting options to be honest. As a light side inquisitor, my end will always be to become a darth. I cant choose not to (unless I want to just avoid the quest line I suppose). The outcome is always the same despite all the choices I made up to that point.

Do some quests differ based off your choices? Sure. But frankly for a game that is lacking in so many other areas, I would have expected more from the plot side of things given that is the 'gem' in this game.

6.1) Light/Dark Side is required: You want to be grey? This game penalizes you for it. Some of the best gear in game will require you be dark X or light X, with very little being "cannot be dark" or "cannot be light" (which is grey acceptable). In a game about choices, how was it Bioware did not except people to take a middle path? Then again if its like any of their games (ME, old KOTOR) this just mimics what they do; decisions are black and white. Your evil/rebel or good/champion nice guy. There is no room for interesting levels of grey...

7) Talent Trees

Zzzzzz

Admitedly other games make this mistake too, but BW instead of being innovative, replicated what was the acceptable mold. Half the talents you get in this game are filler/tax and are uninspiring. 1% more crit? OMG!!! so glad i leveled... Now I will be just like ever other arsenal merc, darkness assassin, corruption sorcerer, shield tech bh, etc etc.

Disclaimer: I want SWTOR to succeed. Most people that post against it want it to succeed. But rather than live in a make believe world where everything is right, they point out what is wrong hoping it will get fixed

Not to make other players feel bad.

Not to promote other games.

But to get someone with authority to analyze their opinions and maybe take action on them (should they agree with them).

I get your point, but I don't agree, people don't need to realize this is a place to voice opinions.

People need to realize that no-one really cares; especially not in the FAN FORUMS of the OFFICIAL SITE.

lolz...

Thank you!
maybe you should have tried OTHER classes than jedi knight.

instead of screwing the entire game just for one class.......

its just foolish.

as bad as you see the writing in jedi knight class, the script in smuggler class is the opposite.

smuggler story, companions, dialogues, one liners, jokes, send han solo crying back to mama.

Just snipped this part. Something, so many are forgetting about, is that they are also working on something major with space. They have yet to state exactly what it is but, I would bet it is exactly what I have been saying since beta. Space at launch was just the stepping stone. I would bet, what they are working on is non-rail space content of which more then likely will contain some sort of space pvp. I would be extremely surprised if they do not include this and are not working on it.

There is also a ton more they are working on and have been for a while. Let's see. So many also tend to forget that the first expansion was started during beta. So that too is still being worked on and would fall under future content or "what's to come".

I can respect many of the views and do indeed respect them. But at least realize that the launch of any title, no matter who puts it out, is not by any means the final iteration of the product itself. There will always be more added to it as the product grows and ages.

*Just some thoughts*

You know, I could understand being disappointed in the game. But being literally angry? What on earth about the game could make you actually angry?

There is no use, people make up their minds about something this strongly to the point that they come to a forum and write an entire novel about it. Chances are they won't be listening to reason. They want to start a walk-out like "Jerry McGuire" - Tom Cruise and hope someone will join in their pity-party.

Once they have made up their minds on this level, it's over. Which is all the more reason for them to NOT post about it and just move on.

To OP you sir are exactly right on every point, but I'm sure your thread will be destroyed soon like every other person who has tried to post their issues with this game. I made a post saying what my problems were with the game and it was completely destroyed and never seen agian in less then one minute. I pointed out in another thread that this game is not worth 15 dollars a month to play since its more of a single player game compared to the other eight MMORPG's Ive played, but of course some fan boy told me to learn how to play a MMORPG lol. If you have no problem with this game then you either have never played other MMORPGs, or mommy is paying your monthly bill and you are obsessed with Star Wars lore (which this game dosent even follow hence class lightsaber restrictions) so you don't care that you are being ripped off, or you work for PR. I love Bioware games until this POS came out.

Read all the post. It has more or less objective points but I quote last statement. Best if you just rate the game like 0/5 or 0/10 but say that many will take you as simply a troll because your experience wasnt what you expected to be.

I dont read to many reviews simple cos to quote Judge Dredd ''I'll be judge of that''

I like that you pointed out the idea with the story and the implacations over the world. I dont like that also, after so much traveling, struggling etc looking back is like nothing happen, and yes the only good quest line is class one rest more or less. I hope they will bring more ''side'' quests that have same ''weight'' as the class quest, not just local one on each planet.

Other thing I've seen to many players in their more or less objective reviews, rants called them what you like they suffer from WoW Syndrome, not all but they are quite many

I dont like idea that the game is 'pushed' towards that standard also. I kinda had enough of WoWish ''clones'' and ''architecture mmorpg''. There is no one out there that can just do something different or we have to play WoW for the next century in different skins?

That's the question.
Gentlemen....gentlemen!!! Save it for the Holodeck
