I read the entire OPs post. Very lengthy. Then, I paged through other replies and such. I got to Bob's post and I read his entire review of the review. After spending time thinking about both sides of everything and of course including my own personal experience and knowledge into this. I have to say I agree more with Bob.

Maybe it's just me... I could be wrong, but...

Doesn't anyone else find it mildly amusing that someone who dislikes and (seemingly) hates the game so much came back to a forum that they are not likely to read, just to post negativity about it?

It would be like a star wars fan posting a negative review of a star trek film on their forums, just to irritate them.

Oh wait...(trololol)

But thats exactly the same as WoW. Two weeks is all you need for any game's content if you live in your computer room.
I do not live in front of my computer and it will take me months to see all the enf game content.

"which means it can be hours before you see other players on certain planets. Phasing off areas also does not contribute to the experience of playing a Massively MULTIPLAYER game. Grouping with a player is not necessary, you merely need to whip out a companion and kill the elites with them instead. Chat channels in game are near dead, even in the most populated areas. I saw a grand total of five guild recruitment ads while playing for over twenty hours."

Straight up lie. You cannot beat any 4+ heroic areas with simply your companion unless you grossly overleveled for the planet. OH AND BY THE WAY...the OP said the companion was useless?

So which is it OP? I'm dying to know.

Is the companion useless or is the companion too powerful? Please tell me.
No. No way. It does NOT take hardcore playtime to cap out everything you can do at 50. As a matter of fact, Datacrons are the most time consuming thing you can do, and that most of the time literally means walking around barren lifeless planets or waiting 2 hours for a balloon to roll by.

Yeah, awesome gameplay. Totally worth the 60 dollar price tag. Wait, i can pay you 15 bucks a month as well for no reason? Awesome!

I generally don't do things that I hate.
He doesnt hate the game, he wants the OBVIOUS faults to be fixed. You should be thanking him.

Welcome to the conversation.

Its called attention gathering and self satisfaction.
Some people need to justify their choice to play WoW (or whatever) and they post it here.

Appearing to be on the "cutting edge" of criticism is all these people have. You know the type I am talking about.

If people want to play a different game, thats awesome! Good on them but to go post why you aren't playing this game, on this forum is simple attention getting.

Yes. Yes it does. People who say you can get EVERYTHING in game in a matter of two weeks are straight up lying or completely hardcore.

I'm not even at level 50 yet and I have been playing since early release day 2.

Hardcore people don't like to admit they are hardcore and want the game to focus on them...period.

I've thanked people for giving me help on my calculus work. I've thanked people for constructive criticsm on my scene work when I worked in the Community Theater, and I've thanked friends for giving me helpful advice.

I'm NOT thanking this schmuck for telling the Devs what to do.

With all the relatively minor flaws this game has, I'm enjoying it. What I don't understand is need people here have to devote so much of their lives to creating a what breaks down to a 5 page report on a game they really don't enjoy.
Sorry to have been responsible for the time-waste

You're right about the gist of the OP being very similar to many (many) others, I just thought it was well-written and had good context for me (as an ex-WoW player). It did a good job of highlighting some of the shortcomings, some of which are pretty poor in a game that has cost hundreds of millions of dollars and thousands of man-hours to create. It makes me think that it has been an almighty struggle to get out the door at all. It certainly doesn't feel like they spent the final 3 months testing and polishing and testing and polishing. Or if they did, then wow! How bad must it have been 3 months before release!

I don't know. I tried to like this game. For the first few weeks I did like this game.

Truth is... once you get past the fluff (voice acting, companions) this game offers nothing new. I can barely get myself to log in. The MMO market has become stale and redundant iterations of stale and redundant games. I think I am completely done with MMO's until someone finally has the balls to innovate instead of cloning the same game we have been playing for 8 years.

So kudos to you sir / madam for saying what so many of us wish we had the eloquence to say.

This, it is a really good opinion piece, and while it is just that, an opinion and a disappointed one, it is also fairly well reasoned and extensively detailed. If the devs read this, it could function as a near checklist of things to look at. I personally am not as disappointed in the game as the OP, I am playing it and I am enjoying what's there. I do agree however that much more could be done to improve the experience, and to that end, this post details those areas very well.
