You (and anyone else who posts along these lines) really need to get over your WoW obsession. It does not need to "die" in order for SW:TOR to be successful and, similarly, SW:TOR does not have to "die" because of WoW. The games can, and in all likelihood will, co-exist for many years to come.

Which has the greater number of subscribers really makes no difference as long as there is a sufficient population on each to sustain its development, surely?
I see, maybe after all I should have put a /sarcasm tag, but I thought NO ONE can be THAT dumb

again,I was wrong

You think Blizzard's business model is to have half a million servers, all of which have 18 people or less on them? WoW is doing fine because it has ten million subscribers. It's not going anywhere. That doesn't, however, mean that SW:TOR is "doomed". They'll both do well. WoW will probably have more players for at least a few years yet. It doesn't mean either game will be unsuccessful. What's wrong with you people?

I think Bioware do and say every lie to take their money back that they sink in this failure. End of story.
I think you might want to check those numbers and stop posting nonsense based on a tool that measures servers levels (low, standard, heavy etc) instead of players and that is useless for a historic of the last 40 days because the numbers defining those values have been changed upwards several times

if this is too complicated I can try to write it in wowkiddie speech and draw a picture

It doesn't even work if it was meant sarcastically though. I'm not convinced you even really know what it means.

S.A.R.C.A.S.M.

you get it? I couldn't care less if wow lives, dies or get 300 million subs. But apparently, a lot of TOR detractors seem to

I would say for every person quitting they are replacing them with a new sub or more atm. Hence, the game is growing. I know out of a guild of over 200 people we haven't lost anyone in our guild permanently yet. Some have unsubbed but will be back. That happens in every MMO as people get burnt out. Especially after a launch. WoW lost over half of the subs it sold for Cata within 2 months. They like to claim its the Asian market that is leaving their game but anyone who plays on a NA Euro server knows otherwise.

Blizzard is scared, WoW fanbois are scared and other MMO's are taking note of SWTOR. Is it for everyone? No Is it a game that is different enough for people burnt out on Fantasy MMO's? It is for me. So if people would stop worrying about which game is best and blah blah blah, and play the game you like. I'm sure we will continue to have choices for years to come. But for you doom and gloomers who have essentially wrecked any game that challenged WoW in the past. This is a war you cannot win, SWTOR is here to stay.
May the common SENSE be with you, ALWAYS!

How saying that 200% of a group of people moved to another game doesn't qualify as sarcasm? It is obviously illogical from several points of view, as much as many of the rants/whines I read

Just admit it, you didn't pay attention and it got you

Only BW knows this. I am sure the sub numbers have dropped, but then this is normal for any MMO. Now its up to BW to release new content, fix bugs and recapture and increase their player base.

Remember, WOW did not launch with 11million players and retain it. It took them 7 years to achieve their current status. I think people fail realize this point.

Thanks

it seems like the general "growing or dying" concensus is gathered from people assuming population based off the fleets number, which is just face palm worthy for a number of reasons.
