I don't know if it matters but i'm using Windows 7 Pro x64.

WIll opening up ports help alleviate the error 9000 code on our routers?

What are the port codes?

Opening ports, or rather forwarding ports are usually only needed when you are running a server that people have to connect to, you are not.
In the case of SWTOR you are running the client, you initiate the connection to the server and any proper router/firewall will be set up to allow any outgoing connections (yours) and any incoming traffic coming over a connection that has been established someone on the the local network.

Update

Time zone: UTC +02:00
Country: Israel
Internet type: Adsl 5Mbit
Int provider: Bezeq + 012
Server name: Starstorm One
Dynamic IP

The time: 04:20 local time

After connecting to Starstorm One (population: light) i've noticed that I'm playing a strategy game. (latency 1000+)

Loged out.

Connected to Tomb of Freedon Nadd (population: standard) and had latency around 120-150.

My main question is ***?!

1. Aren't they both EUROPE servers?

2. IF the servers are scatterd across europe, wouldn't it be easier to inform their whereabouts thats the players closest to them will enjoy the best latency?

P.S. I've tried to find info about the whereabouts of the EUROPE servers on the net but with no results.

P.S.S. Dont tell me that the english speaking servers placed in England and the german ones in Germany?!

Sometimes, yes, sometimes no actually. The reason for this, is because sometimes the wireless connection is strong enough to keep it under 1ms. However, because it isn't able to keep a strong data stream, you may see it lag on an intermittent basis, and even if you did do a traceroute, the likelyhood, you will only see under 1ms. Intermittent problems like this, sometimes is a hard one to crack. So the best troubleshooting you can do, is make it wired, play for a while and then make sure you don't get a lag spike every now and then. If you continue to get a lagspike while wired, then you know you have a more serious problem. Then it might be the ISP. Just some advice.., if you didn't already know.

Also, if you do a ping test, and you see "request timed out" every now and then, it also could very well be the isp. You may have to make a call and tell them some packets are dropping. I had to do this one time with one of my ISP's and they finally figured out that one of their fiber optic lines was broken. My traceroutes ended up ok, but my ping did not. It's usually best to do both. If you find pinging your destination is resulting a "request timed out", try removing the router from the equation, sticking it straight into your modem, temporarilty. If you continue to find yourself with "request timed out" or even huge increase in milliseconds, then you know it's not your issue and is your ISP, therefore, you may have to give them a call.

I'm getting massive spikes in latency as well. It'll rocket from 15 to 30,000 over the course of a minute before it reconnects to the server again. I don't get booted back to the log-in menu though.
