Also getting tons of latency spikes since patch. Play on Krath. Get disconnected every 5-10 mins, cant interact with questgivers at all. Game is totally unplayable at this point. Notice nothing out of the ordinary on tracert. Could this be something server related on your guys end? Was perfectly playable until last nights patch.

I'm having such a hard time of it that I can't even group now. It gets profoundly worse with grouping. Every 20s = a 5s+ lag spike where I'm just not able to operate. Just finished the 2+ Heroic: Down the Hole and I was just barely able to keep my group alive. As a healer this is a serious issue.

I'm going through the client repair process now. Maybe this will help. I honestly don't know what's going on. Gonna log on Rift and see if I'm getting it there as well. I'm not sure what other steps I could take that would trouble shoot this. The tracerts I've been running are giving me equivalent results as I listed earlier. I'm gonna try replacing my modem tomorrow to eliminate that possibility.

I've already shut off all firewalls, antivirus and all other non-essential background apps. Speedtests are showing up good.

Anything else you can point me to that I haven't considered I'm more than willing to entertain.

Not certain if mine is network latency issue as my husband is having no problems but I do get these random lag spikes. Love the way I seem to go across Pennines and come back in traceroute - but that's Virgin for you

Plating on the Progenitor server - and my husband has no issues - hence comment about not being sure if it is network latency issue

There are 2 issues here, firstly (no ones fault at all) the majority of the tracert being posted don't show any signs of packet loss. Some of them do.

Secondally the majority of tracerts that do show signs of packet loss, show it on each players individual ISP's exchange's/server paths etc. Generally not BW's server so im very concerned that this is gunna be difficult to fix.

I'm playing from south east England and the majority of my traces show packet loss of several different servers on the way to BW's server. Ive already had a engineer out and he found nothing wrong with my line. It's going to be almost impossible to explain this issue to my ISP. I really hope BW can conjour up something here.

I've noticed this as well (Playing from California US). Sometimes the problem seems to be with Bioware servers, sometimes with something between Bioware and my server. But since I had a modem replaced, nothing between my computer and when my ISP hands off to something else.

There's got to be some common problem somewhere, but hell if I know what it is.

I am experiencing lag issues where my server latency stays at around 500-700ms. I am not downloading anything in the background and have no one else on my connection. The problem times are anywhere from 4PM - 10PM EST. Here is a tracert from 5:30, I am currently experiencing around 550ms latency in game. My latency when it is not a "problem time" is around 120 which is still quite high, but it is playable. I play on The Crucible Pits. When i connect to an east coast server, my latency is between 15-30.

If anyone needs any additional information don't hesitate to reply and I'll do the best I can.
I will post a tracert when I am not having latency issues as soon as the lag goes away.

EDIT: THE LATENCY ISSUES ARENT GOING AWAY. The latency has gotten insanely high and likes to stay at around 600-1200 since 1.1.1a was released.

so finally after 2 days the culprit comes up... now the server is finally booting me giving me either 9000/4001 errors occasionally.

Sometimes it doesnt even boot me, just keeps me logged in watching my ingame meter go up to 800k... probably cant even try to boot me which is the whole issue.

Its lame that I didnt have this issue at all till the 1.1 patch.. what gives

Game was running great, like 20-30 ms latency, for weeks.

All the sudden around 3:00 PM the in-game meter is telling me I'm at 400 ms with regular spikes up to 2,000 ms.

My internet connection is great to other places, only to SWTOR it's terrible. Traceroute follows:

Code:

Yes, these numbers look great. But the gameplay is terribly degraded. I probably can't kill elites like this - with 2 second delays. Impossible to interrupt spellcasts etc with this lag.

Interestingly, it seems that some of my preferences were changed at the same time this lag started happening. (I didn't change them. I simply logged off one character and onto another one). I verified my video settings are correct, trees/grass/shadows turned down suitable to my video card's capabilities.

Please help.
Jedi are boringly good. Dark side is disturbingly evil. I'm a light-side Empire which is a nice balance for me.
