I can sign in, but the screen just flickers black for a second, then nothing happens.

No response to my email from tech support.

Going back to the older driver did not help me, oh well, back to the drawing board.

in my case, setting the older drivers did not help


after complete removal of all drivers from ati and reboot - game has started !!!
problems with the FPS solved by disabling the shadows in the game.
I have now an average of about 80 fps in open areas, and no problems.

I hope this solution of the problem will be useful to someone else.

So you uninstalled ALL drivers from ATI not just video card and catalyst? There was an option for me to do that but I never did.

I am sorry to see that you are experiencing this issue. I see you've done quite a bit of troubleshooting already.

I would suggest running the game with Administrative privileges if you haven't already done so. You could also try disabling any unnecessary applications when attempting to run the game.

Anti-Virus software can also cause issues launching the game. The exact steps vary depending on the AV manufacturer, but the general steps below that might help:
  • Open up your Anti-virus software menu and check that ‘swtor.exe’ and ‘launcher.exe’ are NOT in a quarantine list or deletion list.
  • Add swtor.exe and launcher.exe to your anti-virus ‘safelist’.
If you are unsure on how to do either of the above steps then you should contact the manufacturer of your Anti-Virus software.
