300Million was the nice number...500million is the estimate high number so I'm going to assume it cost them 400million.

I mean...I guess the legacy systems helps out with role playing but....if I wanted to role play in any MMO I'd go off to Everquest 2 to be honest. Hell if SWG was still up I'd go there to role play.

I like this game and all but I find role playing to be a lack of in this game. :|

200 million is actually the official number.

The developer does not make $50 on a $50 game. They make about $30.

If SWTOR has sold 2 million units, they've made somewhere in the area of $65 to $70 million (factoring in extra money for DDE and CE.)

Even if the game did keep 2 million subs, which requires a lot of faith to believe, they will have to all subscribe for a full 5 months before TOR breaks even. That's 1 month after purchase + 5 subscription cycles. Do people really believe that 6 months after release this game is going to have 2 million subscribers?

I don't think the game has 2 million subscribers right now. I think the game might have sold 2 million units, but we also know many players have already quit.
Some hard truth to swallow right there, boi's.

game is fine. I'm also enjoying the game greatly, and the people I see in-game are usually having fun as well. Nay-sayers will always be everywhere...

I remember hearing that most MMO's don't hit profitability until a couple years after launch - so my guess is that'll be the case for SWTOR as well.

Truth isn't hard to swallow or easy to swallow its just how it is.

This game will continue to grow as months/years go by, despite what some of the forum tards seem to rant about. People can cry all they want and try to spit out "cold hard facts", but really they end up talking right out of their self entitled a**es.

2Mil subs and counting, Clearly plenty of people are enjoying this game. Once the quality of life bugs are taken care of, this should really set sail.

I mean, is there -anyone- out there that enjoys this game? It doesn't look like it from what I'm seeing... and that sucks.

I see the potential in this game, I remember countless other MMOs which had faults, and became something great. Right now, TOR's going to hold my interest for years as is, I don't want to think what it'll do my social life after some more patching and features.

Legacy system looks awesome, especially for role players like myself. I don't even know the point of this post, really. I guess its to say I've watched good games die because people these days are so full of hate and malice for anything they find the slightest fault in. It has gotten to the point where if someone likes the game on these boards, they get insulted, and verbally soul-punched for even mentioning the game is fun or they enjoy it.
Gaming today is filled with spiteful trolls. Most people like another game, but are so narsatistic that they come over to another gaming forum and troll.

We also get the pointless posts of, "Im quitting because of!" Again, go back 5-10 years. People would just move on from a game and find something else. But the kids today seem to enjoy putting a game down they dont like or enjoy. Again this fills up the forums.

Then we get planned trolling, Ive found many threads on other certain games forums planning a troll attack. (take note of join date and lack of avatar)

Then we get a very select few who have gripes with the game and do put it down in a constructive mannor. These are true gamers, they want to better the game and help evolve it.

Add all these together in a forum. It looks bad, Hopefully the top few will move on, do school work find gfs and move on.

But nah. the game is doing fine, loads are enjoying this game. I see nothing but greatness when i play. Yes its gonna take time to iron out the bugs and add more content. But i knew this when I bought TOR as its a new MMO, and EVERY MMO goes through this process. The idiots that dont understand this are deluded.
