Transfers won't solve the problem with low-pop servers, merges will. And I'm so not paying for a transfer... BW have to fix this, not me.

But, yes, it'd be nice if people mentioned what server they were talking about.

that web cant tell you specific numbers of any sort. it can only track what we see on the server status page and make statistics of when a server goes from light to standard or from full to heavy, etc.

imo, that web is quite useless. the intention is nice, but as it can't get other info than the one visible on server status page, it's not very helpful.

Okay, let me get this straight. You picked a server completely at random, then you find out it turns out to be one of the lower pop servers (true or not true, who knows), then . . . get this . . . instead of just you yourself rolling a new character on a server marked as HIGH pop, you want Bioware, just to please you, to all of a sudden institute and assign personnel to a server transfer team, thus screwing with the population of all servers . . . just to please you, and save you from the "hassle" of trying another character on another server? a little over one month since the game's release? You want multiple people to put in probably more than 100 hours of actual overtime, just because you played a game for 100 hours?

Do I have the general concept of self-entitlement correct?

no you don't because he is far from being the only one with this problem.

so, i bought the game, installed it and when i first came to the server selection, turns out most servers had a 2,5h. queue. did you really expect me to roll on such a server?

no, i rolled on a lower one without queues.

i started playing, leveling up. while leveling up you don't care much abuot server pop. you're busy doing your stuff, your quests, etc.

so, in less than 2 weeks i hit lvl50 (no, i did not rush anything, i just had more free time than the average joe due vacations) and in less than 10 more days we got a nice guild running with people more or less high level that have met on the desolated and deserted planets (i was alone on every planet after nar shaddah)

ALL IN ALL: we got a community running, we got max level, we maxxed our chars and everything in approx. 1 month.

one of the few things that kept us running, was pvp. but we got screwed over that too. no, i am not asking to pwn lobies, i am asking to be able to pvp AT ALL, which hasn't been possible for a week now.

the few lvl50 that we had on both sides of the server, are leaving to make alts on higher pop servers. screwing the server even more.

is it our fault? NO
should we just trashbin everything we did so far in order to reroll elsewhere? NO
what would be the logical and sensible solution?
options. chose any or all:
- server merge
- cross server pvp
- cross server lfg

They don't want to seem to recognise the problem at the moment. Some servers seem to be doing fine but there are enough that aren't that could benefit from merging with each other.
Help me, Bio-Ware Support; you're my only hope.

None of the servers need to be merged. Pretty much all of them reach heavy status throughout the week. Also remember, that ANY site telling you population numbers is 100% wrong. None of them take into account population cap increases.

you're SOOOOOOOOO wrong.

there are at least a dozen EU servers (mine: Goluud Corridor, is one of them, haven't checked in US) that NEVER get past "standard"

My server never has heavy population (nor have I ever had to queue) and I only go by the populations given by SWTOR themselves. I do not use a third party site. At best we reach standard during peak times and planets are empty and deserted. It makes the game a very lonely experience on the whole.

I love how those who don't have the problems want to make out they dont' exist for others.

There are too many and if they just merged or gave free transfers to those of us who are willing to move elsewhere it would solve the problem.

I'm not starting over on a different server, it's unreasonable to expect people to do it all over again.

It is normal for MMOs to offer free transfers and server merges when their populations drop too low. It is beneficial for them and their customer base to deal with the problems of underpopulated servers.
