Unfortunately people are *****holes online. It will only get worse (even though a lot of people WILL disagree with me) if a cross faction automated LFG system is put in place.

What exactly about me is hopeless? I mean, I have plenty of hope.

I really doubt I'll ever have problems finding groups; I'm a tank, and pretty decent at it. Why do you think I'll have problems finding groups?

Is it because I'm not selfish and don't think that I'm entitled to gear over other people?

I think if you're empire, you should roll need on anything it lets you. It's well within their credo.

Not sure where people get this mentality that if it says i can nedd I will need no matter what. If everybody just asked I think a lot of these issues would be moot.
It's from other games. The devs for these other games have pretty much stated, that if you have the option to need, you are allowed to and it's not wrong. It might be morally wrong to you, and others with a similar mindset, but it wasn't designed to conform to some peoples moral path.

So if nothing is said ahead of time, there really is no argument. If so, and they agreed, then I would say they should hold to their word. But, again, if that's not the case, there is NO argument. The system, especially this game with Customizable gear, would be flawed to follow a moral path, ie if it has cunning a Marauder may NEVER roll need for looks.

And You didn't say theft, others have in this thread though.

And it still all boils down to people feeling ENTITLED to the gear. I've seen this with over 8 years of MMOs. "My stats, it's mine!" Entitlement

I thought about bringing this up; the system sucks from both ends, but especially in that you can't run the content solo because you won't get drops outside your class.

That and even if you could, you can't really solo the high level FPs as a Marauder.

I've run BT a few times solo to get drops for my companions. It works, low level anyway.

Right but I am not saying never, just if it is not an upgrade for anyone else and you ask and everyone is ok with it you can certainly need on it.

The only issue I have is poeple that just need because it is thier especially if they just plan on selling it.

BW did create a gray area here by making orange items customizable but I think if they wanted anyone to just need on it they would have no stats on them and if you could use that type of armor you could need on it.

I think they left the open need for anyone for the senario I posted above.

These are just my opinions, i dont think my way is the only way, just stating what I think and how I do it.

*shrug* when the reality is that by 50 we're all going to have five companions that fill many different roles for us, how usable a gear item is, or the mods within that item, get somewhat blurred.

BioWare seemingly decided that we could all be adults about it and discuss the matter with our group mates prior to it being some dramatic scenario. However, the reality is that while people can find it very easy to come to these forums to complain about how they got shafted out of loot, they are incapable of initiating a discussion with 3 or 7 other people to get everyone on the same page about loot rules.

My own views, or anyone else's for that matter, are moot about rolling for items you cannot equip but can use the mods out of OR, rolling for gear with the intention of equipping it on a companion, because you will not get 100% consensus across the player base on what is deemed fair.

TLDR - Do NOT assume everyone is going to play by your rules if they are not communicated. Instead, use the in-game feature called the chat window and make your intentions understood before it becomes an issue.

I've done it many times and all I get is Warrior Gear, aside from the weapons. I've soloed others, same thing, warrior gear.
