Since people are complaining about every single class, I guess any nerf would have been a cave in...

OP, this time the nerf bat hit you. If you're such an experienced MMO player as you say, you know the other classes are next and you'll get your 15 minutes of overpoweredness another time, somewhere down the road.

Sorry if you've seen this post in another thread. I just think it's too good to not be posted here too (plus, the guys who wrote it is really handsome):

Here's the real reason for this nerf:

Bioware wants more time to fix the stuff in the game that is broken. There are a few things mind you. Everything from PvP to PvE has major issues in one way or another. Bugs, loot system not working, no UI customizations. They need to keep the subscribers happy enough to stay until the next major patch.

So, how to do this? You cater to the masses. Right now there is a HUGE majority of the players rolling Sorcerers. The Ops nerf at this time, is only to keep them happy enough to keep paying, until the game is fixed. I think we will see a buff again, later on. When balance is the real issue.

Think about it:
  1. The adrenal/buff stacking was the major issue. Why the numbers were so big. That is fixed.
  2. I've read stories of 450 exp tanks getting taken down in 2 seconds. Just not real - NOT without other people shooting/damaging that player too. But the ops (right there behind him) gets the "blame". No combat log - so no proof that there were other nukers as well.
  3. IF Bioware did this for balance purposes; they would have fixed the brackets (done) and the adrenals (done) and tried it out like that first for a few weeks. But this is only to cater to the masses. No balance here, only greed.

I agree, some sort of adjustment was necessary. The dmg IS a tad high; but this nerf is a total knee-jerk just to please the masses. Like I've said so many times on this forum: People that are getting nuked down while stunned by the ops are getting nuked by a whole friggin team. Ops gets the blame for being the one stunning and surprising with that nasty stealth. Happens in every mmo. Usually the developer knows this and handles it well. Mythic doesn't; as seen with Warhammer too.

Need to keep people playing?

5% Ops
60% Sorcs
Screw the Ops!

Oh yeah, the PTR's; The nerf is there now for testing. So feel free to Start a new character - LEVEL IT TO 50 - Get PvP gear from the ridiculous bags - and try it for yourselves! LOL Mythic - Maybe make a character copy function for your "so called PTR"?

Nobody is complaining about guardians and juggernauts. They are universally considered the worst pvp class by far. And only sorcs complain about sent/mara, but the rest of the classes don't consider them much of a threat.

I have a 50 guardian, I started it because i wanted to use 1 lightsaber, but if I could do it all over again i would have rolled a sent. I had no idea how gimped guardians would be. Our defensive CDs are even weaker in pvp than sentinels, its an insult.

No healer should be difficult on their own for a burst class in this game.
Yes, should, but in practice healers are extremely hard to kill right now. I admit that you force them to stand in one place and spam heals on themselves, but they have plenty of spell variety to work around interrupts and stuns aren't long enough to matter, especially against heavy armor healers.

And I know the class I'm playing (scoundrel) very well to tell you that there's no way a scoundrel can currently kill an equally geared healer off the opener, best you'll do is 50% and then the healer will just either keep themselves at that number, or top themselves off depending on the state of their cooldown, all this regardless of how hard you're trying to dps them (which once again shows that operatives/scoundrels have horrid sustained dps and burst is all they have).

personally I have never had a problem with ops. I agree with you that ONLY the sorcs are complaining about it, and we all know that sorcs are the ones in need of a nerf.

did you buy the tinfoil hat from his ebay store too?

It's not exactly hard for them to extrapolate the damage numbers with and without adrenals? a handful of classes did way too much damage with stacking adrenal, expertise etc (guardians/juggernauts for example), but even post reduction, you'd end up with outliers...Throw in a week or so to see if the calculated outcome and the real thing are about right and you have....
Keys are lame

1. Yes, fixed
2. Yes, exaggeration. What is not exaggeration however is that the ops/scoundrel is the primary cause as they are the ones who will punch through their armor like nothing much of the time.
3. If they were catering they'd have made the change the same time as the brackets and adrenals. It doesn't take weeks to gather the needed numbers when your game is monitoring those numbers constantly.

I'm really REALLY not buying into this. I'm sorry but no, I'm just not. Op damage does not drop to tank level at any point, which this is the kind of thing that'd happen to tanks, and even they can eventually kill a healer if they capitalize on a mistake.
Standards are made to be broken.
- Crie - 50 Sniper - Engineer spec -
- Kuari - 35 Assassin - Tank spec -

Yeah because obviously no company has an ulterior motive right? Nobody can possibly conspire like that, right? Frost mages are perfectly balanced because the devs don't talk about them right?

Lol

What pisses me off about the whole thing is the people complaining were Sorc's and they have ALWAYS been pretty OP.
