Yep just confirmed Ilum is being completely boycotted on my server. General chat is rolling text that if you are 50 do no go to Ilum until fixed.
Real PVP is not rage quitting and then crying Nerf to the class that smashed your face in. Its taking a curb stomp to the face and then learning what you did wrong, not assuming you did everything right and they were just OP.

Something i noticed is its just the republic QQing about this because we occupied there base on illum for the last couple of hours.

Guess what it wasn't "Easy" we had multiple ops running with actual teamwork. Something i havn't seen since this game came out. Republic players and the rest of the QQ ppl need to learn if you don't want to get farmed learn to play. There was a couple times the republic actually pushed us out of the base. thats why we had 3 ops that was communicating with each-other. learn from this and move on. I have alot of screen shots that prove the numbers wern't super unbalanced. we just had better teamwork which is why we S&Med you guys.

Simple, don't try and fix something thats not broken, learn to play a game the way REAL hard corps players do, not "Dev's plz carry us"

During the past few hr's that i was in illum doing this stuff (on the swiftsure) we had the 3 top skilled (Sry Zerg don't mean u have skill) guilds working together to beat you....... which is how it should be.


EDIT: Turrets Give ZERO valor. This has been confirmed and i will probably post a screenshot after work.

1) Open work PVP can't work unless there is a reasonable balance. If one faction can just toss numbers at the other faction, where is the fun? Illum (and TOR in general) has no way of dealing with a faction advantage. You might try doing this with
  • NPCs that spawn and help the losing team
  • HUGE advantages for playing for the losing team
  • Combat buffs for the disadvantaged teams.
  • Limiting the number of one team in the zone at a time (instancing)

2) If the reward for winning is stuff that makes it easier to win, it is not possible to have a long term balanced game. You can prove this by using simple mathematical modelling, I'm sure some of your coders must be able to do this. Start with two teams with a 50/50 chance of "winning" and determine a winner at random. Give that winner a 1% bonus chance to win, and remove that chance to win from the loser (such that after one game the chances to win are 51% vs. 49%) Run this 1,000,000 times and see what happens (hint, one sides chance of winning will be 0, the others 100)

3) If every single person in your player bases tells you something isn't going to work, it likely will not work. Listen to them.

4) Roll back the change that makes it so you earn less when you lose a war zone, it didn't help

5) Make the valor reward for being on illum FOR BEING ON THE ILLUM and not relate to kills.
