Worked for me as well. Important to remember is to reset your graphics in the character select screen, and not in game. If you just straight log into the world, it doesnt seem to work. (on my machines here at least).

Thanks!

So, I have tried, retried, and tried again. Nothing is fixing my FPS, I was running rather well yesterday, I tried your solution and and it seemed to make the choppy even choppier... I run a HD Windows 7 Laptop, the thing can run WoW in Ultra graphics, but I cannot run SWTOR in anything but low. I am really kinda getting bummed out here.

This may sound dumb, but I can't find the file.

I turned on hidden folders but I do not seem to have a SWTOR settings file.

In fact, the only subfolders under /local are /Microsoft and /Temp.

Where are my SWTOR setting saved?

You're probably looking in the default folder, so the path looks likely like this:
C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local

Instead you should look in your profile folder, so "Default" -> "Your Windows Username"
There should be much more than only /Microsoft and /Temp

I cant find this file at all. Is this for Win 7? If so, where would one find it on winXP? Thanks for helping us in any case. I have gotten no help from Bioware at all.
