No problem with the waves but its about time an MMO company realises the most important issue on launching an MMO is communication with its player base. A representative of BW shouls be scanning these forums and asking questions back at base. Then a post that players can read but not post in set up relaying information back. For example clearly many people are questioning the 4 wave comment, how hard would it to be to ask a techie at BW if anymore are planned and then relate the information.

We may not be able to speed up our invitation but if BW could let us know they are listening to us it will please a lot of people.

QFT - I've noticed that the community tends to skew a bit older than other game sites, so I fully expect that there are many more "older people with responsibilities" in the early-order crowd.

You DID NOT pay an extra $5. The $5 it charged you when you pre ordered was a place holder order, but when you get charged the rest of the price it charges that $5 less. Just because the bill looked like
$5 pre order
$74.99 Digital Delux

or

$5 pre order
$54.99 regular

does not mean you paid $5 exta, if you look at the actual pricing of the game it $79.99 /$59.99/ignoring CE... point is just like if you pre order in a physical store what ever you put down when you pre order goes towards the game wither you pay it off early or pay it off the night of release.

Obviously all these twerps calling for patience and to be calmn are Republic scum. Im part of the Empire dont you know we feed off rage and chaos? Now grant me my early access now damn it!!

Oh and the reason why they arent posting the preorder dates that have got in is because they are talking rubbish, its not going in order, 3 people from my guild are playing who all redeemed their codes months after i did.

Hey everyone, good morning and welcome to the first day of Early Game Access for Star Wars: The Old Republic!

We're granting access based solely on when people's pre-orders were redeemed, and we're going to be granting it in 'waves' - large batches of emails and game entitlements that will go out over the course of today (and tomorrow, and the next day, and so on).

I'll be updating this thread (and this post) as we send out more 'waves' of invites.

So far today, we have sent out two 'waves' of invites; we will be sending more later on, but I cannot be specific on timing. (Why? Because as we invite each wave, we monitor to see how servers are performing and so on. If everything is good, we'll send a 'wave' earlier; we in fact sent 'wave 2' ahead of schedule. So cross your fingers.)

Now, to the question you all have: when will you be invited? Well, I cannot be specific to individuals or even to dates, because again, we have to remain flexible. That said, I can talk a little about the pattern of pre-orders.

At the very beginning of pre-orders, which started on July 21st, we had a massive influx of pre-orders. A huge spike. After that, things settled down. As a result, today especially, you're going to see a fairly narrow band of dates from those admitted to Early Game Access. From tomorrow, it'll spread out to a wider date range.

That's about as specific as we're going to get right now. However, as we send more waves I'll update this thread/post with more information. Thanks for your patience - we know it's been a long road, but you'll be playing before too long.

Update: Wave 3 was just sent.
