This game badly needs mods and macros.

This is not third-party software.

And, again, the exclusion factor is a very, very, very small portion of the community (i.e. hardcore, progression raiding guilds). And if you're a part of one of those, then you'll have a lot more stringent requirements to worry about than needing a few mods.
Ok I think you have a different view of what a third party is than I do. I would think that I as a consumer and Bioware as the provider of a service or product represents two parties involved. Any addition to that specific make up represents a third party. From my perspective, any mod developers who aren’t specifically working for Bioware represent a third party.

With that I’ll end this by saying that you and I just aren’t going to find any common ground on our positions. I’m sure that we both will still have a high level of enjoyment playing the game in our own way. Good luck

Creating an API isn't trivial, it means support costs go up, possibly more importantly it means they loose control of their creation, the direction of the game and it hasn't even been out a month...

Maybe when were on the forums and the date Jan 2013 we could revisit these discussions, but for now I for one am happy enough to play the game as is, which is wonderful and let Bioware gauge their income stream -- which from my view isn't tied to stealing players from older games, but drawing in the Star Wars fans and creating new gamers - who aren't dependent on macros or mods...

Chances are the current UI is already created using XML or similar scripting.

Any software that's NOT part of the Game software IS third party. Whether HTML, XTML or otherwise.

Our views on what third-party programs or software differ. Third-party they are, programs or software they are not.

not allowing this stuff makes the game feel like it belongs on a console.

the XBOX 360 has a CPU and graphic processor capable of running the game. The amount of RAM is the only spec the XBOX 360 doesnt meet the min requirements listed on the box.

With how rigid this UI is and no available mods or macros, it leaves me wondering if they are really developing a console version.

This game DOES NOT need mods, screw that ****. Its UI is poor by design, TONS of other games, if not all of them have a decent UI just because, no mods or anything. I agree that THEY need to make it better, having immobile panels and only 4 quickslot bars is so so terrible...
