Where in gods green earth did I say bioware makes no mistakes???

The PARTICULAR issue you are talking about was raised in beta, and was left exactly as it is - hence 'as intended'.

If at a later date bioware change their minds, then that is the new 'as intended' - I really dont understand how this is a hard or alien concept.

I could rephrase it to - Its as intended at the moment, but in time bioware could realise its a bad choice and might change it to be more sensible? Does that help your understanding a bit?
Can you prove it ?

I can't use "Maul", which is my backstab.
I can't use the charges (none of them), Which is pretty much my dps or my tank stance.
I can't use discharge
I can't use voltanic Slash

The only abilitie I can use from my dps rotation is Shock, which does not require a weapon to be equipped.

My companion in question can only use double-bladed lightsaber and Electrostaff...
ALL his abiltities work with both, Electro Staff and double-bladed lightsaber...

IME most CSR's are fairly clueless about the game as a whole. They're min-wage phone support who aren't hired because they know the game, but because they can offer basic support for issues regarding accounts, and maybe help with /stuck.

I never talked to Blizzard CS, but other games this is pretty much the standard. CSR don't know the game or at least rarely know as much as I do.

The issue with being able to use the staff as an assassin does seem to be rather silly too me too, never understood why pretty much every class can equip an item that locks them out of many of their skills.

At least in the case of the Trooper, you start off using a blaster rifle, and then upgrade if you go commando. Same goes for Knights/Warriors you start off with a virbrosword.

A companion item dropped. Big deal.
Looking for a good woman. Able to clean, cook, sew, catch bait, and clean fish. Must have boat and motor.
((Please send picture of boat and motor))

Because, if you are not... there is NO WAY you can answer this for sure...

Once again...
Cunning 101... You cannot use a Electro Staff when you are Sith Inquisitor.

Congratulations, now you are a Sith Assassin. You have just learned to use Electro Staves...

WoW... COOL, Now that I am a Sith Assassin I can finally use an Electro Staff, right ?
Hmmmm no....
Simple, because the skills are intended for use with a Saberstave plain and simple. Sure you can equip some other weapons but some skills aren't going to work. That's how it is because the Saberstave is the weapon of choice for the Assassin & Shadow.

I don't understand this. Are you saying that once you start hitting hardmodes you shouldn't be getting upgrades for your companions anymore?

No because they deleted the entire beta forum history.

Anyone who was playing the slightest attention in the beta period will be able to verify the statements however.

So, as I said before - it doesnt stop you from using ALL abilities, just some. Why do people insist on making their points using hyperbol, when the simple statement of the facts would work just as well. Therefore it is usable by your class, just not very usefully.

Yes - that is YOUR companions - not everyones - you really need to look beyond your own perspective and examine all the game, not just one facet of it.

If the idea is to do more hardmodes and OPs...then yeah. Because you can't use your companion in that content.

Hand-me-downs are one thing. But unless they release endgame content that lets you use your companion, a high-end gear drop that's only usable by a companion is a questionable (I would argue downright poor) design choice.

That's just silly. It isn't like the moment you start doing operations and nightmare modes all of the different uses for your companions go away. You can still use them outside of that content. I'm pretty sure the majority would disagree with the logic of 'because my companion can't do the content, I don't want to be able to upgrade his loot anymore.'
