I think there should be a cutscene at the beginning of every Flashpoint where your characters decide whether cutscenes will be skipped or not for the remainder of the flashpoint

(and Ties are resolved in favor of the Group Leader)

It's very clear you didn't read the OP:

2) You are arguing that if you run an FP again you are not going to "make" someone hit spacebar. That's your opinion. From that, however, the post I responded to was

Can you explain to me how someone is supposed to get that you bothered to read the OP's post from that?

You can play the game however you like. If someone is grinding FP, and there are 3 people looking to grind them with no cutscenes, I'm sorry, but there is no defending someone joining the group, which has stated "we plan to skip cutscenes to grind faster" and forcing them to watch the cutscenes, when they could simply group with someone ELSE who isn't.
Why do you always have to try to take away someone's credibility? Just because they don't have the same opinion as you doesn't mean they didn't read the OP.

I'm not going to say the OP is wrong for being annoyed with players who watch cutscenes in a group that specified "no cutscenes". But that doesn't mean that the type of addon he is describing would be a good idea. Unfortunately, not everybody will specify "no cutscenes" like he does. So you'll end up with people getting yelled at for watching cutscenes when they weren't even aware that the rest of the group has been through it 5 times. Then they could potentially get kicked out for it if the leader is feeling spiteful.

The group leader option is a much better alternative imo. It allows the group to not watch cutscenes if that's what they want and nobody has to worry about getting yelled at or kicked out of the group. And since it will be clearly stated in the party parameters, if a person wants to watch the cutscenes all they have to do is say "sorry this isn't the group for me." Then everyone is happy.

When I spam my LFM, I already add "no cutscenes" but people still refuse to hit the spacebar sometimes.
and why are you playing this game?

thats right your a former wow player who is used to smashing accept and just walking to the next point on your map

id request an addon to point out players like you so i dont have to group with them
We need RVR in this game, lets make world burn with pvp

Unfortunately for the OP he has insinuated that this game is not the single greatest triumph of human endeavour so the attack sheep descended and did what they do best.

Insulted him and accused him of being playing the game wrong.

In other words, he has no right to post what he posted?

Well, clearly, I'm a fool for even thinking someone had the right to make a suggestion based on what they like. But I'll be very, very sure to keep this quote handy the next time you have a complaint of any kind of about gameplay.

Do you not even see how inane this is? There are people in the thread saying why his idea is bad on technical or community merits (i.e., divides the community, would be abused, etc). No problems with those posts.

Then there are the posts that bash the OP "for not getting the point of the game", "whining", "having no attention span", without even considering what he saying.

Last night, trying to farm BT, with 2 other people. We've all run Black Talon, multiple times, LS and DS, and are very familiar with it. Farming for blues. Leader puts up a LFG comment in the LFG finder of "BT grind, no cutscene" and puts it in chat -- "LF1M BT grind, skipping cutscenes, DS".

I would assume that anyone joining us would either

1) be familiar with the lingo and join because of that or
2) be looking for a group and join and then ask what all that meant or
3) be looking for a group and join, and not bother to ask what that meant.

In all three of those cases it is NOT OUR responsibility to the joining person to determine if he or she has run BT before, or if they want to see Kilran's scarred up mug again. It's the person's joining.

In 5 runs we had 2 people join. The first guy was upset we were "rushing him" so we kicked him. That's our right. 3 of us don't want cutscenes. The second guy had no clue what the lingo meant and asked. He had never done BT before. I told him if he let us rush it twice, we'd do the last one at his pace. He was fine with that and we had a blast.

Judging others on your own demands is always going to make someone look wrong.

You sounds more like the guy other ppl boot from there groupe...

This addon goes out, you boot 4, 5 + players, they all tell there guildmates and friends thats an *** **** just booted them for watching cutscenes... and after 2 weeks you wont have anyone to play with but you don't sound like a guy with much friends anyway ...

And look at the brightside, than you will have to play solo and spacebar as much as you want

Better idea is remove all cinimatics for the game except for the class quests. Waste of time, big waste of time, and loading always loading in the game.

I agree with the idea that GL should have control, but I think it should only be for FPs, OPs. Repeatable content where it is not at all unreasonable to want to skip through the story after running it a dozen times.

Thank you for this helpful info. I had no idea you could determine this from the group portraits. My groups should run a lot smoother now that I can replace players who don't follow my politely stated rules.

Agreed, you just have to ignore peeps like LogicalPremise, they are anti opinion and will flame anyone who does not agree with them.
