In fact if you think any game style is more REAL then another you need to find yourself another hobby, gaming is all about being entertained, the only people, like with sports, who can think of themselves different then others are pro's who actually earn money by it. Until then, it's your free time entertainment. Now if you want to play something you don't like fine by me, but don't go painting off other people as less then you just because they disagree. I was in a top pvp guild in Guildwars (serveral years top 100, a game that is based around interupts, spike damage and pressure) and i've done all wow content on heroic (no pvp in wow cause it SUCKED). And i absolutely do not agree with you.(wich is my gosh darn opinion)
You guys need to fall back to earth and realise you are not the only ones here. You might make some friends and the game might not be so empty after all.

While ToR is does have some issues you can clearly already see that it takes everything wow does and improves it imo. And don't be a fanboy cause i don't even tend to stay at this game, i'm going to GW2 when it comes out. Just passing the time here and having a freaking blast!
I think this is why a lot of people complain about it. MOST people do play for entertainment. But those people don't have more then 2 hours at max to be entertained every night or even a few days. So, once you get to around level 30, this game really begins to drag. It seems like more time is needed to experience the same enjoyment you had at levels 1-5. This is what I've experienced myself. I feel like I have to devote my whole night to get anywhere on this game now, otherwise I have to log off in the middle of a storyline phase or flashpoint. And I don't have the ability to do so, with a job, full time school and social things. This game becomes a lifestyle rather than "entertainment".

Thanks for delivering on time Bioware. I'll take a few bugs over not playing at all.

Well said - what a fantastic game

Anyway I dont consider that 10000 complaining players (I'm being generous I guess with this number) on this forum is a figure I should greatly care about.

Some people like to complain for the only purpose to...well...complain. Some people are like that but that doesn't prevent others from enjoying their experience with the game. At least their complaints do not prevent me from enjoying my gaming experience.

By the way if I wasn't at work (in my launch pause), I would undoubtedly be playing the game and not browze these oh so negative forums. Can't wait to be back home.

... What. Did you ever level in WoW during Vanilla? It was ridiculous. Play this game on the weekends if you don't have the time. Otherwise it's no different than any other MMO aside from WoW in the aspect that you're speaking of.

It happens with every game whether it is good or bad.

When the free month is up alot of these QQ posts will be gone.

It drags you in, you no resist it ^^ I'd rather have that then wow wich just anoyed me while lvling alone, thank god i had someone who lvled loads of chars in there as a friend or i would have never made it. This game i'm sure i'll lvl 3 chars to max np, i didn't even finish al GW content with 3 chars, and i adore that game.

One problem seems to be, that a lot of people want to play a new MMO at launch. Those people usually hang around the forums for months before release and throw a fit when the release-date gets pushed back.

Now the very same people (being the "fans" they are) start playing as soon as they have the chance to do so, which in itself is not wrong, but for some reason, they tend to expect a completely polished game with a endgame that entertains for months and no bugs at all.

While this certainly would be some sort of ideal MMO-launch, it has never happend before and supposedly never will. So there's one reason: exaggerated expectations for a MMO-launch. Games get polished and have a decent endgame after a few month or even a year.

Another one is more complicated: It's about different priorities. Seemingly one of the biggest problems people are having with the game is the "unresponsive combat". While I also have noticed the ability delays and the trouble with the animations, it never struck me as especially game-breaking. But this is mostly due to the fact, that I do PvP very sparesly and I am neither very good at it, nor do I want to be. So for PvP-players this is obviously a big deal, for me it's not.

But the original question was why there are so many people saying the game is bad. Well, in the end there aren't that many people claiming the game was bad or unplayable or whatever, but the people who do seem to stand out in the forums. This is also more than understandable, because only a few people would go on the forums and tell everyone that the game is fine with them and they have no big issues at all. There are also players, who usually ignore the forums and only post, when something is worng in their opinion and they have a need to be heard by the developer.

What I'm trying to say is that its highly subjective if the game is "broken" or not and that the forums never have been an indication for the future subscription numbers (anyone who was on the WoW-forums the first few months after launch, knows what I mean). Just let time and the players decide what becomes of TOR.

~ space combat on rails - few missions ALWAYS the same. You just move cursor and hold left mouse button.
~ bugged PVP with no balance and with loot of game breaking problems like channeling spells countdown and attacks that don't do damage or just... cannot be used. For example Bounty Hunter have nice mele damage on close combat that cannot be used against bosses and in PVP so it's almost useless
~ flaspoint every week

It's not like you will do flashpoints and space missions over and over again because they are on rails. Only thing left is PVP on 2 warzones and more pvp on lvl50 planet (be carefull, bioware can ban you there :P).

Not too much for a MMO.
This quote right here is exactly why I don't take the "this game is terrible" comments seriously. As a level 50 Powertech, I will tell you that I use my melee skills in endgame bosses and in PvP. Not only do I use them, but I use them more than anything else.

As far as PvP goes, for the most part it IS balanced. You just need to learn how to play your class first. Do you know how many times I see smugglers run into the fray, get into cover, then later complain its worthless? Here's a hint: STAY IN THE BACK AND SHOOT FROM THERE. PvP is not flawless but of the 100 complaints I've seen, only a few are legitimate (stunlocking in fire/acid, ability delay, server lag) and while those can make it annoying, it's not impossible to play and I'm sure at least the latter two will get fixed very soon.

Space combat doesn't have a lot of options, but I find it entertaining and it succeeds in what it is. A mini-game. They are adding more to it eventually as well.

And finally, a flashpoint every week? That doesn't even make sense. You can spam normals, and hard modes have a 1 day lockout like most games. Were you referring to OPS? Because the equivalent in other games are also usually on a week long lockout too.
You can never be too rich, too good looking, or too well armed.

Well I am honestly very impressed with the game so far. There is stuff that I expect will improve and be added to, that is the nature of the beast and why we pay the subscription fees.

On the note of the compainers, there is some people that will never be happy that the game is not curing world hunger and solving world peace. The want something more then perfect. People should note that this game is larger then wow in file size and world size, has more to it in every aspect as well. It is not going to have to blow a whole expansion again to fix all the issues that got left behind like cata and I am sure mists will do to an extent. Play the game and check out everything, I am sure you will be very pleased.

On the note of serial complainers, well there are a few that are prolly from blizzard, and to deny they fact is to show a ignorance about the nature of business today and the art of business espinoge (albeit pretty light compared to what goes on with other companies). The rest of the serial complaners are prolly teenagers who just dont know what to do without mommy and daddy to fix their problem and expect everything they say to be taken as the gold. They will go away or eventually be banned I hope, and can go back to tormenting MW3 or BF3 and be killed just as appropraitly.

Yes I did, and I stopped playing around level 40ish. It was the same problem. Blizzard even recognized this and made leveling easier, which in turn increased the played subs. Why would I pay to play a game over the weekend when I could play a game like BF3 and have way more returned in entertainment value?

What's next, I should just stop playing? Well, once my 15 dollar sub ends, I probably will. I could also just play a few warzones, but that's already lame with all the kids in their mom's basements owning everyone as a level 50
