in the article it clearly states 125 - 200 mill. thank you for providing me the proof to destroy you own argument.

and still, read up abit on what coding is and what it does.

a game whit 14 BILLION dollars invests will as well have bugs (unless they spent 90% of the time of the game squashing buggs whit 5 million betatesters on it)
This is still the most expencive game in the whole world. THE most expencive game. If it is 125mill or 200mill, does not matter.
This game should be better then any other game in more or less any subject of the game.

Sure the game will have bugs and faults, but there are so basic fundamental fails and bugs that should not have been in a game of this quality.

You have decisions made that you ask the question, why did they do that?

They do follow the "standard" MMO template for the most part, but leave out important parts that people actually notes. They have done a few things that make you wonder if they even are up to date with what they do.

EA and BioWare have put this game into a league of its own. They have pushed the hype and bragged wildly about the game and how innovative it is.

But when you have MMOs like Rift that is just a small indi game compered to this doing better release and are close to more innovative then what SWToR is, then you start asking questions again.

Don’t misunderstand me, the game is good, but this is not an indi game. It is the most expensive game in the whole wide world. This is the game released in its FULL glory, it is not an Alpha stage or Beta testing.
But the glory is not that bright. Just look around on the forum. Read up about what people find missing in a game of this proportion and what bugs that should have been taken care of in Beta. There are bugs from early beta that are still in the game that makes it unplayable for many players. There is a TON of small stuff that should have made it into the game before release. Not after. There are missing so basic things like a /LFG chat, or a /roll, just the ability to scale the UI. Something that almost every MMO there exist out there has. Again this is not an indi game made by a small company backing it up with a tiny budget.

A game of this magnitude should NOT be on the same level as Rift in any form or sides.

Log into WoW. You see BGs / Instances pop up in 30sec for any level.
Here you need to LFG spam for 2 hours to have a chance finding a group.

Also you will never feel alone like in this game.
SWTOR caused no harm to WoW and after those 30 days passed, they will go back where they came from.

Right now, at 12:35 PM there are ~100 ppl in front of the auction house on my server. Many hundreds more over the world. If you /who the zones, you will cry in SWTOR. WoW Player limit per server ~10k, in SWTOR max 2k.

I'm not bothered by the bugs, I've been playing MMOs since UO, I'm used to bugs at release. SWTOR has been better than most in that regard.

I think there are some core design choices that were made, that once the average player base catches onto are going to become more apparent as problems.

Just as one example. They have completely trivialized and more importantly taken the fun out of getting loot, if you know what you're doing. Orange gear with up to date mods is always as good or better than anything you're going to get out of a drop or quest reward. This is probably the games single biggest failing. *Knowing* you are never going to get a drop or quest reward that has any kind of wow factor takes away one of the major draws to games like these.

I'm not bitter, or hateful, or trying to convince other people they shouldn't enjoy the game, I'm just bored. I probably have a lower tolerance than most as I've been around a long time.

The longer you play the game, the more things that started out as inconvenient turn into annoying.

/shrug. They made classic mistakes.

1. The game is too easy and doesn't really require much cooperation with other players. This has been a long standing fault of devs catering to players whining about making games casual/solo friendly.

2. The carrot/loot system is horribly borked once you understand what is possible.

3. Run 10 minutes, watch 1 minute of video, kill 25 mobs in groups of 3's, run 10 more minutes, watch 1 minute of video, repeat. This is one of those things that wears on you over time, and the longer it goes on, the more frustrating/boring it becomes.

It's fantastic if people are loving this game, there is a lot to love. They've done a fantastic job with some of the story lines/voice acting. It's great as KOTOR 3, it's just not a very good MMO.

First of all: Good. I can't wait for them to go back to WOW. Maybe the chat channels will have less of a "12 year old" mentality.

This game isn't a WOW killer. There is already a game out there that is the WOW killer. Wanna know what it is? Its WOW. They keep releasing the same "expansion" over and over. Wanna see what its like in a development meeting at Blizzard?

"Ok, we lost 2 million subscribers last year. Whats next?"

"Lets get the game released in China. That will give us another 4 million subscribers alone!!"

"How do we do that?"

"Pandas"

"Pandas?"

"Yes. Pandas."

"OH....I almost forgot....Lets add another 5 levels"

"ANOTHER FIVE LEVELS?!?!"

"Yes. But lets give away the first 20 levels"

"Pandas."

Both of you. Go back to WoW.

Expecting perfection from an MMO is stupid. It will never. Ever. Happen. Guild Wars 2 will not be perfect, it will not please everyone. Secret World will not be perfect. It will not please everyone. Budget or not. Most of this games budget was spent on voice talent. So the money argument is just... Just weak.

Try again.

Or go back to WoW. I mean. If you're happier there or like that game more... Why the HELL are you here?

To complain on the forums?

How childish.

Edit: Also. Rift being more innovative/having a better release is entirely subjective. I've seen multiple opinions on this issue. Stop. IT. Find a better argument.

Double Edit: I laugh at anyone in this thread who considers themselves a competitive gamer. No one ever said this game was for you and I doubt you're a "competitive" gamer anyway. P.s The vast, VAST majority of gamers? Are "carebear casuals" and pay for your games to continue on being developed. So please. Again. STOP. IT.

So what's your point?

Some ppl like wow, some ppl like SW.

Yet there people here that claim SW is poor and WoW is awesome, yet they are playing SW and posting on a SW forum.

I know for sure, if I prefered one game over another, I wouldn't play the poorer game, nevermind post on their forums. As such, I play this game, I don't play WoW, AoC, WAR (and any other game I've played in the past and got bored of...) or post on their forums. It's hardly complicated, if you don't enjoy something, don't do it.

This won't ever work. People think they're entitled to complain, think their opinion applies to everyone and they think they're right. About everything.

They're going to complain and complain and complain because they have nothing better to do.

Hopefully most of these people will be gone after the free 30 days. I personally cannot wait.
