Doesn't matter if i put the settings on the lowest possible.
Even if it worked do you think it's reasonable i should have to put my settings in a game on low when im on a $5000 gaming PC?

My Low(ish) end rig would like a word with you ^^

Core Duo 2 3ghz
4 gig ram
9500GT 512mb

Low settings 18-20 fps max, high settings with shadows off 50-70 fps and a good 30-40 fps in warzones.

Figure that one out.

Would those of you who are having these issues please set try the windows xp compatibility mode fix?

http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=114264

If you have tried it and it didn't work fine, but this one change alone boosted my FPS 20-30 FPS.

Right click your launcher.exe and go to the compatibility tab.
Check the Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 3

Disable visual themes
Disable Desktop composition

I also run this program as an administrator as I just found I don't crash as much.

Yup, I enabled XP SP3 compat and the game runs a little better, thanks to whoever suggested it.

Running Win 7 64-bit on AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @ 3.8GHz OC with 8GB ram and GTX 580.
Now that GoergZoeller is gone, buff operative.
SWTOR going F2P, now playing SWGemu.

I think you guys are trying too hard.

I run a simple quad core 3.4GHz
ATI 46xx series 1GB video card
1TB HDD
8GB RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

My internet is a USB stick like what you get for use with a laptop for traveling. I'm sure my internet is nowhere as good as cable but it is better than relatives ADSL that also play WoW and SWTOR.

My FPS ranges from 20 to 50 and I never have any problems playing either game. My graphics are all set to low and it looks amazing.

So maybe these big bucks i# computers aren't what they are cracked up to be, eh?

I also have fps issues.
I have a Phenom II Quadcore and a Radeon HD6850.
Outside cities I have around 40 fps, in the fleet or warzone i have 15-20 fps.

The graphic card perfomance monitor shows a load of 30% while the fps are 15,
the cpu perfomance monitor shows a load of 55% on 3 cores and 25% on the first core.
Turning off the shadows gives about 5 fps more.

YES! I noticed that on my rig also. PROC is running at 50% and GPU is running at 20-30%.

-EDIT:
Same thing on my Macbook Pro

PROC - 40%
GPU - 60%

Mine has an i5 processor with Intel HD 3000 graphics.

It isn't an FPS problem, have you ever noticed that when you're off questing by yourself the game runs fine, but as soon as you get into a city or a warzone, your FPS drops like crazy? It's a lag issue, I think im having this problem and I had 0 problems playing the game when O was in beta.
Why do they call them Tie-Fighters?
