The Space Marines would have their way with Star Wars without much resistance. Especially http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Angry_Marines (NSFW)
Passion, peace. Strength, knowledge. Power, serenity. Victory, harmony. Freedom, the Force.

Damn, Warhammer size ships are not only ugly as can be, but they are also tiny compared to either Death Star and around the same size as a Super Star Destroyer.
Kitster is the real hero of the Star Wars saga.

You know star wars ships are tiny compared to the death star right? They also dont need a death star to destroy planets

Kinda good. That Imperium battleship in the picture is much too tiny though.

Here's a typical Imperium cruiser (using size numbers from canon 40k rulebook) compared to a Imperial cruiser:

Some 40k races have bigger ships. The Necrons have ships that are the size of planets.

comparing the two ships not gonna work, they are two different variants - but between the two you get the idea WH40k ship are huge and aren't for show, they pack some major ordinance.

The Imperium doesn't field ships because they're pretty. They field them to blow things to Hell and back (which is why so much of the ship is dedicated to power generation and guns).

The Death Star was also only 120-160km (depending on version) and a massive overcompensation effort. Far better to stick to things that were fielded in larger volume - the Super Star Destroyer is a good note, but it was still somewhat rare to have ships of that size (unlike in the 40k universe, where 'overcompensation' is the word of the day and they love it so much).

Can you really call it overcompensation when you got stuff like the Hive Fleets wanting to eat you?

A Star Destroyer is 1600m long... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Destroyer)
An imperial "Sword" frigate has the same size (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Swor...e#.TzY6ZvnmNI0)

imperial Frigates are only small escort vessels

Funny tidbit. The first Death Star was about 150 KM and took decadas to build. The second was around 900 KM and took a few years.

But ya the Imperium have battleships that are wider then a ImpStar and are about 1/3 the length of a SSD.

SSD's were supposed to be rare and a drain on the economy of thousands of planets. **** you EU for just throwing them out behind every asteroid in the universe.

WH40k actualy has a base and the economy to build these ships. Yet in Star Wars 25,000 ImpStars were built during the Galatic Empire and that was said to strain them.

But lets forget about that. StarWars Cap ships have deflactors. Then can absorb/deflect so much energy. They need to have physical shielding and thats not so much better. WH40K ships shoot torpedos designed to destroy ships of equal size... even a near miss can be crippinling.
All the time they are shooting their main batteries the out range SW ships by... well its a lot. Dozens of times.

I love me some SyarWars and the world built around it.

But when stacked up to 40k... it does not work. Nothing.
