So 7pm in Moscow is bad? Usually that's the time people will have finished dinner so what exactly is the problem? What other alternative for a maintenance window do you expect to work; if not this current window during which most people are at work/school.

Personally I think you people are just complaining for the sake of trying desperately to find something to complain about.

How is a maintenance window during the time the majority of people are at work/school bad? And if it is, what would you think is a better time period?

I dont think this is complaining for the sake of it, Its complaining because People cannot play when they want to... and theres nothing they can do about it. Its like Buying if you Rented a Car for £10.00 a Month ( Cheap I know ) but then they said They had to take it into the garage for Maintenance when you needed to Pick Up your Kids after Work or something.

It is when its Good for THEM

One more time: Look at the server status now. I dare you. Look. Now. Does that look off-peak to you? Like very heavy Freedon Nadd?

I said Eu not EU... and it's in the greenzone, the game was officially released there too, they have the same customer rights like all the others...

As other said..maintenance has to be done..but don't try to convince me you do it at off-peak hours for me, I'm not a moron...
I always shoot first!

Off-peak ! ? ? ?

They're either stupid or they need to get new batteries for their clocks, cause having a maintenance that covers mid-day certainly ISN'T off-peak !

I Second this,

if they are gonna say they are doing it in off-peak hours one more time i might just crack.

putting the time up is one thing but rubbing in the wound saying its off peak is just ridiculous.

What's annoying me most here is the blanket silence from Bioware and their reps.

Not even so much as a:
'we are aware of the thousands of forum posts about this issue and will pass on the feedback - that much of our EU player-base are upset over our policy of server maintenance during EU primetime.'

Lets face it. The only statement we have to go on: "We are aiming for this weekly maintenance period to take place in an off-peak time for both North American and European players."
That is just plainly NOT TRUE. 8am to 4pm is NOT an off peak UK time. Parts of Europe get it even worse, GMT +1, +2, +3 etc... server being offline until 7pm at night is an off peak time eh Bioware?

Engage with us Bioware.
Let us know what the hell is going on. Are you listening? Or are you unworried that you are pissing off an entire continent during your launch Month. Burying your heads in the sand and repeating over and over to your selves: 'it could be worse, if we took our entire online presence offline during American peak times the world would end'.

You're not inspiring very much loyalty here Bioware.
If you wont talk to us we'll have to come up with our own assumptions.

Last time the extended maintenance was up to 20:00, that makes 21:00/22:00 in most Eu countries.
Is it that hard to understand that quite some people don't like this?

Turn it around, I don't care if you are fine with it.
Personally I prefer good customer support over this but hey to each their own.

I think really there are three separate times for SWTOR. Something like below :

PEAK- 17:00 - 01:00 Local Time
OFF-PEAK - 9:00 - 17:00 Local Time
GRAVEYARD - 01:00 - 09:00 Local Time

So yes, this is happening during EU off-peak but during US graveyard.

Yes, it is now off-peak in the EU. I don't think anyone could justify it as being peak time. There are still lots of people playing though. What we really want is maintenance during the graveyard shift like the US.

Freedon Nadd being the only one at Very Heavy though; others are sitting at Standard with a few Heavy from what I can see.

So because a single server just happens to be heavily populated, BW has to adapt their maintenance schedule?

Could it be that it is only temporary as a lot of people might still have holidays? Next week the population might look very different when everyone is back at work/school.

Or do you want varying maintenance windows that adapt to potential holidays?

Not the EU itself but a part of the Country is in fact in Europe and they play on EU servers and have to suffer the same maintenance schedule as the rest of us. But, because their time zone is GMT+4 their maintenance doesn't finish until 7pm.
Space, is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is. I mean you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space...
