Aside from the usual bout of arrogance, you did not read the thread, did you? We're not petitioning to move the schedule to suit our needs, that would indeed shaft the Americans. What we want is for 2 separate schedules:

One for the Americans, where they do things during the night and are not inconvenienced.
One for the Europeans, where they do things during the night and are not inconvenienced.

Also, take a quick look at the number of servers. There are 122 US servers and 92 European servers.

Are you really going to sit here now and tell me the US market is larger and therefore BioWare can ignore the Europeans, when the difference is so small? I'll make it even clearer for you: the Euro, for now at least, is worth more than the dollar: we pay 17 dollars for a month of play, you guys pay 15. Money-wise, the income from US servers should not be much smaller or bigger than that from EU servers.

Also, converted, we pay 70 dollars for a standard copy of SW:TOR, you guys pay 55 dollars.

And you are really going to tell me now the US is the bigger and better market and Europeans should stop whining? Give me a break. The difference is so small that Europeans should be treated as equally valued customers, yet, we are not. All we ask is for our own maintenance slot, surely that can't be too much to ask?

I am an EU player and I honestly do not see the big deal here, and no, it's not because I am not able to play at those times because I am. Fact is, you can play the game pretty much 24/7 and you guys are whining about 8 insignificant hours of the 168 of time that you can play. So yeah, if you have no life and don't sleep you get 160 hours of play per week but dear god when BW uses maintenance to improve the game and takes 8 hours of your play time. 8 hours of a whole fricking week.

I'm sorry, that's just sad, you have to whine because you cannot play your game for 8 hours once a week, it's not the world's end you know, there are plenty of things you can do in 8 hours worth of time and it's over before you know it.

The fact is, the US playerbase for MMO's is roughly 60% greater than the EU's. We are both dwarfed by APAC regions.

The service goes where the money is. This should not surprise anybody.

Insignificant to you, significant to others. Don't belittle people's complaints just because you don't happen to agree with them.

The major point here is fairness however. Why should we have to endure maintenance during daytime hours when the US get their during the night when they are asleep?

No man, we are mainly talking about Justice, we are talking about having same service than US, we are talking about getteing same for our money, also ... you know about freedom? it's ok that you accept not to play and do other things, but be respectful and accept others want to play when they are supposed to be able, its their right to be able to play same amount of hours than ppl from US, because they pay same

I decided to ignore it, because it makes you look even sillier. Every MMO out there has separate maintenance schedules for different time zones. It's part of customer service. BioWare is the only one that decided that screwing over the Europeans would be the better way to go.

This problem confuses me. Most people work or go to school, between 9am and 5pm?

so having server maint between those times seems to make sense to me. I would guess that most people get home about 5-6 have some stuff to do and get on playing about 6pm and play until late like 1/2 am

obviously when maint overruns it sucks but thats life and its a new game so its going to happen.
