This is not difficult to understand. We are the larger market (US).

Move or get over it.
We will move, lets see if bioware ea could get over it

Edit: Maintenance windows are always coordinated affairs. They will never have a separate maintenance window for separate time zones, as they then run into the complication of different people playing different versions of the game. This is never acceptable, never has been, never will be.
Source...official figuers to show there are more US Subscribers than the whole EU?

Sorry but the EU market is alot bigger than the US market.
850mill+ vs 300 mill+ ? And americans usually prefer CoD or BF type of games.
Heck I got friends that cannot play because BW only opened to 10 EU countries so far.
Deception sin <3

In the thread made yesterday http://www.swtor.com/community/showt...258#edit691258 bioware announced the weekly maintenance and that they would try their best to keep these weekly maintenance's on off peak-hours.

And that seems correct in the US, but in europe the time is 10AM to 4PM.... How is that in anyway during off peak-hours. Its in the middle off the day.

They even have physical servers in europe so why cant we have maintenance on those servers when its the best time for us and not when its the best time for the US?

I really dont understand their reasoning for this and its rather annoying knowing that the servers will be unavailable every tuesday afternoon.

Hopefully we can get some clarification on this or maybe its just me overreacting?
- and getting back to the very first post on this thread, its 2 weeks later and still the same Bioware announcement - I would think the number of threads and posts about the EU maintenance times would have Bioware rushing to provide a fairer solution for all its player base, but I am having serious doubts tbh.

Isn't this a problem which Bioware could have foreseen before launch and taken steps to avoid?

Much as I have been enjoying the game this I fear is going to be a deal breaker for me - it's not so much about the maintenance times, but the imo customer unfriendly attitude.

They could learn a few things from Trion and others - free months play runs out in a couple of weeks, interesting to see if this problem has been solved by then...

I am an EU player and I honestly do not see the big deal here, and no, it's not because I am not able to play at those times because I am. Fact is, you can play the game pretty much 24/7 and you guys are whining about 8 insignificant hours of the 168 of time that you can play. So yeah, if you have no life and don't sleep you get 160 hours of play per week but dear god when BW uses maintenance to improve the game and takes 8 hours of your play time. 8 hours of a whole fricking week.

I'm sorry, that's just sad, you have to whine because you cannot play your game for 8 hours once a week, it's not the world's end you know, there are plenty of things you can do in 8 hours worth of time and it's over before you know it.

Aside from the usual bout of arrogance, you did not read the thread, did you? We're not petitioning to move the schedule to suit our needs, that would indeed shaft the Americans. What we want is for 2 separate schedules:

One for the Americans, where they do things during the night and are not inconvenienced.
One for the Europeans, where they do things during the night and are not inconvenienced.

Also, take a quick look at the number of servers. There are 122 US servers and 92 European servers.

Are you really going to sit here now and tell me the US market is larger and therefore BioWare can ignore the Europeans, when the difference is so small? I'll make it even clearer for you: the Euro, for now at least, is worth more than the dollar: we pay 17 dollars for a month of play, you guys pay 15. Money-wise, the income from US servers should not be much smaller or bigger than that from EU servers.

Also, converted, we pay 70 dollars for a standard copy of SW:TOR, you guys pay 55 dollars.

And you are really going to tell me now the US is the bigger and better market and Europeans should stop whining? Give me a break. The difference is so small that Europeans should be treated as equally valued customers, yet, we are not. All we ask is for our own maintenance slot, surely that can't be too much to ask?

Only some data:

Preorders in US: around 1 Million
Preorders in EU: around 1.6 Millions

Both estimated data.

Warhammer Online: EU launch disaster (Same Company) ----> Bankrupt

No MMO of this dimensions and cost can survive without Non USA markets. I you're unable to understand this, you've a big problem.

And no MMO is going to success in EU if they provide a worst service than his competitors, it's very simple.

Insignificant to you, significant to others. Don't belittle people's complaints just because you don't happen to agree with them.

The major point here is fairness however. Why should we have to endure maintenance during daytime hours when the US get their during the night when they are asleep?
Space, is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is. I mean you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space...
