So many things wrong with the OP that I don't even know where to begin... Started writing this whole long thing, but it got really long so I scrapped it. Basically, the op needs to go back and take a look at MMO's like EQ and DAOC before he starts making a bunch of assumptions about how certain game mechanics somehow make a MMO single player.

The only thing I even remotely agree with is the annoyance of having to click so many times to get to my ship.

Um, I am not trying to be insulting, but please, let us consult a dictionary.

Quote:
A single-player video game is a variant of a particular video game where input from only one player is expected throughout the course of the gaming session. "Single-player game" usually implies a game that can only be played by one person.
Quote:
A massively multiplayer online game (also called MMO) is a video game which is capable of supporting hundreds or thousands of players simultaneously. By necessity, they are played on the Internet, and feature at least one persistent world.
If you cannot understand this basic difference, I personally am not interested in listening to increasingly tortured logic. Zoning does not make a game single player. (Warhammer was far , far worse). Nor does quest selection, or having to pick a speciality early on, or lack of dual specs, or whatever imaginary and rapidly shifting goals have been determined this week to deign to grant the game the right to call itself an MMO.

If your argument has to mention WoW -- it's invalid. Period.
If your argument relies on the words "I feel" or "in my opinion" do not present it as fact.
If you cannot understand that "single player game" usually also comes with a SAVE and LOAD, which I don't think TOR does, then please, by all means, tell me how the fact that I have a load screen going to my ship invalidates the PvP and guild-related play I have enjoyed the past week.

However, i think you're thinking of having it to scale. The maps would be too big, how about the same content on say.. Tython, but wrapped around a sphere.

I'm not expecting or demanding BW/EA to change this, but it would've increased the immersion factor a lot for me.

Anyway, I agree that most of the Single Player aspects of SWTOR aren't things that can be fixed with patch 1.1, or 1.2, or anything else in the near future. To fix all of them would require a complete overhaul of many things in the game, amounting to pretty much an entire expansion just to turn the game into an MMO

That's why I think SWTOR should be free to play

Do you ever stop?

Group with other players if you think this game is for single players. Seriously, they didn't give you the option to group for nothing.

Cause it is. It's a SP game with coop. Not an MMO. Learn to make the difference.

Can't wait for the free month to pass, and see if he will continue paying subscription...

He bashed the game in over 1200+ posts in every single way, so i can't wait to see if 2-3 weeks will he still post on the forums.

Well SWtOR along with the current LotRO, and especially games like Guild Wars/Dungeons and Dragons blur the lines.

I can't go all out and call it a single player game, however I can say it's much less "MMO'ish" than it's predecessors like EQ and DAoC.
