Just found out the hard way that if you have the quest and get logged off, when you get back in the quest will not work correctly. Even it's still in your log with the timer counting down, the quest will not update even if you get infected with the plague. You'll have to reset it in order for it to work right. I found out the hard way after spending wasted time killing rakghouls over and over.
