I feel no pity for the OP. I play the game for the stories. Like many people do. This isn't really a complaint because the Devs are not going to remove talking scenes just because of your impatience.

My bad.
Actually, we don't. Your admonishing people -- an entire generation -- in act for a perceived lack of patience about a game like you're talking about life. It's dumb, and I recognize that as someone who isn't even in the targeted demographic.

Frankly, like I said to the first gentlemen who raised that particular point in this thread, such statements are hardly productive.

If you want instant quest text go back to WoW.
Bingo.

Of course! Story in a MMORPG is horrible. It's also horrible that swtor has more content than any other MMO at launch! Bad bioware! It's also terrible that their story is better than any other MMO in the industry too.

If you like pandas and pokemons go back to it. You seem to forget the RPG in MMORPG.

I listen to the dialogue for my class quest because I'm greatly enjoying the story. However 90% of the side quests I just briefly read and skip the dialogue. I don't need 3 minutes of dialogue for every "Go kill 10 robots" quest.

A lot of people are scared of generalizations and potential stereotyping, especially when they them self might be mislabeled, however a majority IS a majority. There is nothing wrong with saying "MOST (most doesn't mean all) of X has Y" if it's true.

Various generations DO carry certain traits that were bred into them through current social structures, religious beliefs, politics, even the state of the natural environment. It's science, don't take it personal.

How that plays into the design of the game is target marketing. Every company with a marketing department knows we are not all unique and special, at least not completely, and there are majority wants or majority needs which will rake in majority gains. Don't take that personal either, it's just business.

I have played 2 troopers and 2 smugglers (want to try the different ACs).

I enjoyed the story the first time I played it.

I do not enjoy it the second time I play.

I spacebar over any 'story' that I have already seen. For customers like me, Story, is like a Healing Pot. It is great when you use it, but basically worthless afterwards.

You know, id like to point out that if your complaining about the voice acting and story then id look at the developer...one of the leading in western RPG's with full voice acting, heavy story content.....and then shut up because you made your choice to play the MMO they made.

You don't get to complain simply because you don't like something a developer is famous for. Don't like QTE in god of war? tough. Don't like random battle in final fantasy? tough.

We are currently in a generation where most gamers seem to think that the game is tailor made just for them. Bioware create the best stories to be honest, if you don't like it then the story driven MMO might not be the right place.

Feel free to stay, but you wont like how short it is and you don't get to complain about content later down the line when you don't care about story really.

Seriously this generation of gamers is infamous for their "entitlement" issues. There's articles on the internet about it. A popular one being the Humble Indie pack, a chance of gamers to say how much they think games are worth.

A lot of them figured the worth was free. Or about $5. For a lot of games.
All I have to say is, your post history is mostly just hating on WoW for no reason whatsoever, and I pity you for being one of those guys standing in a corner saying "this sucks cause I don't like it". I couldn't care less about "internet articles". Game companies will always try to appeal to a majority of gamers, their goal is to make money. I figured someone in the "old generation" would understand the business world a little more. Put the games down and a get a family/career. Secrest out.
