I was wondering if its possible to change companion or is it something random that you get ?

I'm sniper and i got like almost the other sniper as my companion(kylie or whatever her name is, bald girl). and sometimes she's pissing me off because i want a healer, and more over she is never satisfied with whatever i say in any quest because im always on light side usually. i dont even know how i got her.
is it possible somehow to change her.. ? and where? o.O

Every class gets set companions. However, you get more than one companion over the course of your career and you can pick which one you have with you. The others can be left on your ship or sent off to do crafting/gathering.

You get a second companion when you get your ship. You get the ship around level 15'ish when you finish the second planet. That's a ship-based robot that isn't "programmed for combat". You seem to pick up your second combat companion about the same time, though I understand this varies slightly by class.

There's one more companion you pick up later in your career.

You cannot miss out on a companion. As long as you follow your storyline, you're guaranteed to get the companions. You can swap out which one is with you pretty much as often as you like.

There are writeups on the web for the various class companions. Torhead seems to have pretty good information on all the companions by class.

That second companion (droid on your ship) that isn't "programmed for combat" as the second poster pointed out can be used as a healer.

The main problem you're having with Kaliyo is that you're striving for light side. Read her dossier in the Codex and it will give you clues as to what she likes and doesn't like. She's an unrepentant bad girl and rather proud of the fact, so if you want to increase her affection toward you, you're going to have to play to that in conversations, or give her gifts that she likes. A conversation tip I can offer: Most responses in conversations don't give DS/LS points (unless there's an indicator, it won't affect you). With Kaliyo, if you're disrespectful or voice a love of violence, you'll probably score points with her that way. While most LS options will take a point off with her, there are a few that will take -40 points, so you will probably want to be prepared for that on rare occasion.

Unfortunately, being an Imperial Agent, you're going to be stuck with her as your only non-droid companion until past level 30 (Alderaan), when we get Vector. The healing companion, Dr. Lokin, comes only 3 or so levels later on Taris. So, if you need a healer before then, you're going to be stuck using 2V-R8. Being an Operative, I don't need the healing support, so I can't comment on how good of a healer it is.
Some people just need a high-five...in the face...with a chair.
