Heroic 4 quests should be redesigned

A companion isn't going to keep a player up with 4 or more elites pounding on him, which seems to be the norm for higher lvl heroic4 quests (groups of 4-5 elites, that is).

Me and my friend don't even bother looking for other players to complete the heroic 4 quests.
We both always managed to complete them together with our companions ... we died sometimes but it was fun and challenging. And isn't it all about challenge and fun?

That reminds me of those people building a full group just for The Esseles or Black Talon flashpoint ... it's just stupid.

Think outside the box. I have only skipped one planets HC +4 and I'm level 43.

On Hoth I did every +4 with x2 Vanguard x1 Sentinel and my healer companion. One of the bosses caused us to think slightly where me and the other Vanguard were taunting off each other at low health so my companion coud heal the last tank to full then we switch back. we had fun with a couple of packs of x4 gold and x2 silver where we split the packs and tanked half each then did a lil kiting where needed but non of this is rocket science and it was loads more fun than x2 Damage, Tank and Healer.

I heard that some healers can use there tanking companion (geared up of course, no scrub companions allowed) and solo +4 quests.

Go on, break out of the box, you may have some fun

This way you still get the option of doing really great difficult quests, and since they'll be quite long chains, able to keep your group, but still be able to get some of the other smaller ones done without having to wait 30 minutes to get a group, or, worse still, find that you've done the entire planet and still not done your heroic 4's, and have to abandon them and leave (which has happened to me already a few times).

I personally just gave up. Unless I see someone LFG and I have that quest and i'm close to the area. I abandoned all my Heroic 2s and 4s on Balmorra.

Haven't experienced this at all; I've completed every 4-man quest on every planet so far (level 37). There's only 2-3 on most planets.

Nobody said you had to do the 4-man quests, they're just available if you want to organize it/get lucky enough to find good people. It's not hurting your leveling experience at all to skip them.

I mean seriously, why do they need to change it on account of you insignificantly missing 1-2 quests every day? They're options not requirements.

worse part is devs baically demand you to do these areas, if you don't do them come up short of lvl 10 at end of the zone... which is infuriating for a new player after everyone has lvl 50 and aren't many people doing starter areas.

I don't mind heroics but the devs always need to assume that players aren't doing them when comes to exp curve otherwise players hit walls and cant get past them as far as exp goes. Now once your on next planet your fine, and heroics become mostly optional.

To OP's questions though... Heroics are a great idea i don't think need redesigned i do however think that should buff up companions to fill in for gaps in a party. Right now a dps companion works fairly well, and is a great addition but, real issue comes with healing and tanking companions... epsecially tanking ones becuase while can hold threat super well... have NO tanking buff! means take stupid damage later on...that said i managed to tank all 4 man areas up til alerraan when enemies were hitting to hard for a HEAL spec'd SI to heal through the damage being delt.

If just buff companions up a little so could fill in as a tank/healer i think problem would be alleviated...because while requires alot more micro managting to use companion to do this stuff it was fairly fun to do.

This is essentially my problem with the heroic areas. If you don't do them you come up short on every planet they exist. So they're not "bonus dailies" at all, but more of "YOU MUST DO THESE TO BE AT THE RIGHT LEVEL" dailies.

This imo is a game flaw those 4+ heroics
I'm not surprised at all that people dont want to do them

But if you are having issues getting groups to do flashpoints and stuff you have an issue, not the game.

With the quantity of people who play the game and the quantity of guild out there if you are having issues getting groups for flashpoints it isnt the game's issue

My guild had 4 different flashpoints running last night in 4 different level ranges

Most of H2 and H4 are shareable, so you can join a group whenever, just ask them to share it.

I really have no idea why people form groups for flashpoints on the fleet rather than on the planet where the feeder quest and shuttle are.

- Recruits from the fleet.
- Can't put a group together even as a key class.

- Recruits from the planet.
- Has filled 100% of groups within 5 minutes.
