This might be irrelevant now but, when I was in the beta test weekend I had received the color crystal from my pre-order and was unable to make my weapon the color I wanted. I am under the impression that we can make that crystal any color we want, am I reading into this issue? or was the ability to change the color of the crystal not implemented in the beta version?

The pre-order crystal is a specific color that is not available through other means. It was never meant to be any color you wanted.

You are unable to change the color of the crystal.

 

Instead, you buy different color crystals and socket them.

 

So for example, an Aritificer could craft you:

 

A +4 Strength blue crystal

A +4 Strength green crystal

A +4 Strength red crystal

etc

etc.

 

You should never lose out on Stats because most of the crystals come in every color for each stat.

You are unable to change the color of the crystal.

Replace strength with endurance because endurance is the only straight stat that will appear on color crystals. You can have other things like critical chance and like but you will never get cunning, aim, strength, and willpower on it.
