How To Change My Stronghold Symbol To Republic Only Instead Of Alliance?

On the stronghold page, you simply click the symbol and select which one you want. You can't make Coruscant anything but Republic, and DK Empire.

You do need a minimum prestige (IIRC, it is 1k for personal and 10k for guild) in order to publicly list your stronghold. Unlisted will show a closed padlock and is the default state. Listed options, Republic, Imperial, or both (the Alliance symbol), become available once you have enough prestige in the stronghold (generated by decoration your stronghold) and can be changed at any time.

It's probably worth pointing out that the icon shows which faction can see it when browsing / searching the public listings, which is why the "Alliance" symbol *isn't* the actual Alliance symbol, even if it looks just like it.
