Gronemann
Hi I have a problem with the game suddenly freezes spontaneously. I have to do a hard boot of my computer and can not use CTRL + ALT + DEL. Am I the only one having this problem or ...? :-) My computer is brand new, and all drivers are updated. There is no dust in the fans and everything is fine clean. Heat is not a problem. CPU = 35-40 degrees, and GPU around 60-65 degrees. I have reinstalled the game last night and this has not made any difference. This problem is especially critical because the server queue is long at the moment. Last night I never got back online! About my specs.: Windows 7 64bit CPU.: Intel Core i5 2500K / 3.3 GHz, LGA1155 Socket, L3 6 MB MoBo.: ASUS P8P67 PRO (REV 3.1) Sandy Bridge RAM.: Kingston 12GB DDR3 1600MHz (3x4) HyperX Graphics.: Gainward GeForce GTX 560 Ti "Phantom (2Gb) SSD.: OCZ Vertex 3 SSD - 120 GB PSU.: 750W (Should be enough ) Would be glad, if You guys could help me out here, or maybe a comment from dev's? Best regards Gronemann Edited December 16, 2011 by Gronemann
SadlyOne
How did you measure your temp? I think you still may have your GPU overheating. Or, may be you have some video ram errors. But it's most likely hardware problem... Try to run some stress tests on your HW. They may show you something interesting Edited December 16, 2011 by SadlyOne

They may show you something interesting I have made the mesurement with my FLuke instrument, and also the build in software mesure.. I have made several stresstest of the system with 3DMark and so.. No problems. No other games give me problems like SWTOR.. Its a bit frustrating I played in the BETA, without any problems too I can hardly belive its at hardware problem! Scynah
I have had similar problems in the past with computers I have built, and I found that usually the easiest solutions is often the one that works. I would pull out the video card (and sound card / nic if you have one) and reseat it in the slot to make sure it's all the way in, you shouldn't see much if any of the plated "teeth". Also do the same thing with your RAM and if you have the manual for your MB, make sure the ram sticks are in the recomended slots. Also if your video card has an exteral power connect, make sure that's plugged in correctly, you might even use a different power connector if one is available from your PSU. It really sounds like something may not be seated correctly or be getting enough power. Give it a shot if you haven't already and let me know if it works out for you. **edit: Also, do you have 3 or 4 sticks of ram? I currently am assuming you have 3 since ram is manufactured as even numbered sizes (2G / 4G / 6G) That particular MB uses dual channel memory, so if you have 3 sticks, remove one of them. It's best to purchase the ram as a dual channel kit so they're matched. Edited December 16, 2011 by Scynah

Hey :-), and thanks for Your reply. Today I bougth a new Cooler Master cabinet, and a new PSU, just to be shure, the problem not was caused by heat, og lag of power to MoBo, and video card. I have had everything out of the old cabinet, checked all socets (RAM, div connectors, Videocard) Every thing was fine.. Now I have a brand new computer, that runs everything more than perfect.. exept SWTOR. I realy dont know what to do! /Gronemann
Scynah
see my edit in the post above regarding the amount of ram sticks you're using, since you didn't comment on that I don't think I got it in fast enough. Let me know, I'll think of everything else it could be in the mean time.

What You say, is that I need to remove one, or buy one more? /Gronemann
Scynah
I would take that ram back and exchange it for a dual channel kit of 2 matched sticks. Gotta match that up with the memory channel type of the motherboard which in this case for yours is a dual channel. if you want 4 sticks you'll need two dual channel kits, though you really don't need more than 4gb of ram for gaming. This is what your board supports: DDR3 2200(O.C.) / 2133(O.C.) / 1866(O.C.) / 1600 / 1333 / 1066 Let me know how that works out for you but I am pretty sure we just found your problem. Scynah
I am hesitant to agree to that since the ones you purchased are manufactured and sold for tri-channel boards and I would hate to see your board get fried, I wouldn't chance it on my PC. This issue is a common mistake made when building a pc, I've done it once myself. Your best bet is to play it safe and get your hands on ram that is manufactured and sold for dual channel boards. I don't know where you're located but if you have an electronics store near by that sells ram you should be able to pick up something for 20 - 40 dollars. ** edit for spelling <sigh> Edited December 16, 2011 by Scynah
Scynah
As a followup to the above post, if/when you install new dual channel ram sticks make sure you check your bios setup to make sure the manufacturer recomended mhz and voltage settings are correct for the ram or else you'll get the same problem. Scynah
If the pc is still locking up it's still going to be due to the memory, the whole tri-channel / dual-channel issue, because of the way the mother-board is designed. Removing the 3rd stick only allowed the pc to partially use the ram but it still doesn't use it correctly due to the channel type. Your data that's passing through the ram is acting like a cork in a bottle. Edited December 18, 2011 by Scynah
