Returning player...Hopefully!

Hey SWTOR community!

I played quite a while ago for a few weeks while I was home on leave, I was deployed so I had to quit for a while.

When I came back I tried WoW Again, Got to 90 and got bored. I switched to Guild Wars 2 when It came out, and I'm still currently playing it but It's the same thing over and over, Do this heart, do this escort. Tried Tera again but it just wasn't for me. I'm tired of the Fantasy MMO and want a different time frame MMO.

I'm wanting to come back but it's been so long since I've played I don't remember much about it.

if someone could so kindly help me out I have a few questions before I return.

-What is the player base like now?

-Is it still populated?

-What are the pros and cons of the game compared to GW2, Tera and other "Big" name MMO's out right now?

-I bought another copy and got 30 days of game play( If I play I won't play the F2P, I will Subscribe) Is it worth putting my money and time into the game?

This is all I can think of right now, But answers to any of the questions would help greatly!

I hope I get some responses soon because I'm installing the game right now.

Thanks guys!

The SWTOR player base is much friendlier than other MMO's out there right now, but it's not the shiny new game on the block.

Populations have been much lower than launch but not terrible at least during primetimes.

It's not a game that breaks any molds in terms of new ideas. I like MMORPG's, so I have no complaints, but if you're tired of that, then the best thing to do probably is to think of it like a KOTOR 3 with lots of different class options and the ability to group if you want. Once you get to end game it's pvp warzones, daily flashpoints, and weekly raiding, kind of just like the other games.

If you're looking to play the game long term and see different class stories, I recommend swapping back and forth between empire and republic, or skipping all but your class story on some planets so when you level another character, you can have those planets be fresh for you.

Awesome, I don't mind the grind that most MMO's have. I actually like the grind.

I'm just wanting a different atmosphere. Like I said I'm tired of the typical fantasy MMO. Wow, Aion, Tera, GW2. They all have their perks but they are all basically the same. Typical Fantasy.

The main reason I am interested in SWTOR again is because of the setting. Futuristic. And the mounts aren't horses and dragons. They are speed racers and such.

Hell, If this game was the exact same as WoW but set in a different time frame I'd be sold.

Do you think, even though it has gone F2P in some aspect, that it will live on. Or is it doomed to the MMO graveyard?
