Hey everyone!

I am sure I cannot be alone in being a person who wanted to work at BioWare. I was lucky enough to land a job at the company a few years ago. I wanted to pass on, in case you missed it, that we have quite a few job opportunities here at our studio in Austin!

You can see all of our job listings here: http://www.bioware.com/en/careers/

There are a few jobs we are definitely looking at aggressively filling:

If you are interested in applying, feel free to do so right through the site. Thanks everyone and good luck.

I find your lack of writers disturbing. :csw_vader:

Especially considering there's so much more story content to explore that Bioware won't seem to do. I mean... they could go places with individual class stories...

but NOOOO. Planetary stories are the priority :(

3 or more years of professional game software development experience in building

4+ years (minimum) of professional programming experience

Well unfortunately no intern position and no new grad in something related... actually working for Datalogic and finishing my studies... :(

I don't think guys get Mat leave.

Paternity leave, which is even less likely in the US, to be honest.

Yes :3 gender!=sex

Though not all transmen retain their uterus, some do and not every country requires that people be sterilized because they're different to some artificial norm.

I'm glad we all concur that the most important part of this dev post is that Musco is pregnant and is taking maternity leave.

Clearly, it explains the somewhat erratic posting of late - all that getting up to pee and forage for chocolate.

It's not Musco!

They are looking for a

Austin: Temporary Community Production Coordinator (27299)

and if you look at their signature

Eric Musco | Community Manager

Courtney Woods | Community Production Specialist

Amber Green | Live Services Specialist

it's Courtney!

If only I still lived in Texas, of course I don't have my Bachelors yet so I doubt I would qualify.

So...um...did devs quit or is BW getting super serious about improving this game?

Just because they have open positions doesn't mean they just created or opened these positions. I applied for two positions at BioWare (including one of these) all the way back in March. For the Tools position, I was told that a senior and tenured developer did vacate the position, but they also had plans of expanding that team by a couple members. I thought it would be cool to get into the games industry since games have been my biggest hobby since I was about four years old.

The games industry seems to have become more aligned to what I consider the more mainstream development community, but they still count years in the games industry and shipped titles as a serious consideration factor. I thought it would be really fun to get involved (and I've played the game I'd be working with since beta), but it wouldn't be almost like hitting reset on my career. Not to mention a significant salary reduction (20-30%).
