Floyditron
The game yesterday randomly decided it would refuse to let me press the play button, people online (including EA and Bioware staff) posted on forums years ago that disabling bitraider was the most appropriate cause of action (which questions why Bitraider is even a process in the launcher.) Now, the game required a full download, frustrating and stupid to redownload a currently downloaded and operating program but whatever, I can wait a day. Now it has been a day and while your game downloaded on my chugging pathetic Norwegian internet it has decided to stop and be stuck at around 57% install. No online searches find a solution to this... apart from deleting files in Bitraider and requiring an entire reinstall. You're releasing a new expansion when a core part of even loading the game has been a bugged piece of garbage since launch, I am a paying subscriber, I am a customer, if this is not addressed in this post in one days time I will be cancelling and uninstalling this video game and will move over to another MMO. I am sick to death of your laissez faire relaxed approach to technical problems, find me a solution or lose another customer. My last EA and Bioware purchase, that's for damned sure. Floyditron
Update: I've decided this is a waste of time and the response will involve me reinstalling the game. I've decided to uninstall and unsubscribe and I will play another game. Thank you if you took time to read and address my problem.
SteveTheCynic
The correct response was to *disable* Bitraider, not just delete its files. If you just delete its files, the new download with still be managed by Bitraider. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Troubleshooting-Guides-Info/Guide-How-to-Switch-to-Non-Streaming-Launcher/td-p/4867417

It's stated as much in the post. Once an install has begun, disabling or re-enabling bitraider accomplishes nothing. OwenBrooks
Sounds like an antivirus issue as first impression first problem may have been the antivirus closing down the bitraider service as mentioned in https://answers.ea.com/t5/Troubleshooting-Guides-Info/GUIDE-Launcher-Stuck-at-0-or-100-Complete/td-p/5282877/jump-to/first-unread-message as the play button "only" lights up after patching process has completed the stopping at 57% under non streaming sounds like the antivirus too edit - yes antivirus related knew 57% sounded familiar https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/SWTOR-Launcher-Stuck-At-quot-Installing-57-quot/td-p/7287228 Edited June 18, 2019 by OwenBrooks
