Accuracy in PvP

In the case of a Marksman sniper (ranged damage) for example I'd go higher than the 93-94% suggested above.

Though in the case of tech/force only classes such as sorc don't take accuracy. No class has any tech/force resistance and you are at 100/101% accuracy already. The only time classes do have extra resistance is because of cooldowns/specced buffs and it's not worth it using precious stats on that. Sometimes you have accuracy buffs yourself to deal with those situations, again depending on your class.

The reason ranged/melee accuracy is lower is because the base damage of these skills is higher than tech/force

Hopefully this is the last time I have to answer this question.

Accuracy from gear irrelevant in PVP. Regardless of the "native" defense people have, there is no way a small gap matters due to these main factors:

1. (Assuming the companion buff) On a 100 sided die, 91 or 96 are hit, 9 or 4 sides are miss. This means on average you need around 100 rolls for this to pan out. Even in a full length, 8v8 match, you might do 300 globals, ranked and lopsided matches even less, Arenas, even less than that. That means there is not enough data for the delta to matter, in other words, you will not likely miss anyone due to this factor, and this factor alone.

2. Any probability assumptions based on this native defense delta needs to account for the huge outliers. Even a MMsniper has a huge one on relatively short CD. Accuracy and Defense rating increases/debuffs are huge by comparison to this native delta everyone seems concerned about. Every situe is different, but even a MMsniper is never at 91/96% the entire time. Again due to the one outlier, in a WZ they operate significantly closer to 100% using Target Acquired, on average throughout the WZ. Most pew-pew classes have something similar.

3. (Anecdotal, but relevant) PvP tanking community pretty much agrees Defense Rating is useless, so why is native defense considered valuable enough to consider it in gearing against it? Well you could argue it's free, and tanks have other, better options to gear with, but the fact remains across all classes something like 70% are Force/Tech attacks.

Conclusion:

Defense Rating from gear isn't really "helping" anybody, and considering the above, where tanks/anyone are not stacking it, and the deal with probability distribution being hard to quantify in PVP, stacking any amount of accuracy to attempt circumvent the native defense is a waste of stat allocation. Get some power/surge/crit and thank me later.

PvP has been and always will be about burst damage. Accuracy doesn't contribute to that as even the white damage classes have some main burst tied to Force/Tech attacks.
