any advice on where to start and what to do?

There's not much that really requires teaming up in the starting planets.

Well there are few heroic 2-man quests, but at least on the starting planet those are possible to be soloed if done as the last thing there.

 

After leaving the first planet you'll eventually run into more content that requires a group to do at level (of course those are all optional while leveling up, but...)

 

 

 

Really just make sure you do all your class main storyline missions on each world until moving to next one

What server are you on? i usually help newbies on the Darth Malak PVP server, id advice you to go Solo, take ALL the quests you can, stay to the gear your class uses, group up if you need it

Don't forget to read up on the class your playing in the class forums so you don't up being blind sided later on by choosing skills in your tree that will bite you in the rear later on. This will also give you some insight on what problems others have already experienced with that class. Edited March 19, 2012 by haliy

After level 10 on capital world u could weigh your options. There will be plenty of people there with guild tags so you could try inquiring. Many servers will have casual or leveling guilds. MMO's are meant to be played with other people and is a social experience.

 

For higher up content later on you will have to group up wit people anyways

 

Be sure to check out the Server Groups Forum for your server. It should have list of guild, activities etc
