ctsfinest
Dumb question. I can't enter the Taral V flashpoint - I guess I need the Jedi Prisoner quest, but...I can't remember where to get it. How do I get started so I can do this flashpoint? I tried entering it but it says I'm ineligible, and I can't get the quest from the droid outside the flashpoint, or enter the group area with Oteg. Thanks.
ctsfinest
The info I looked up on darthhater is out of date - the MP-77 droid doesn't exist in Alderaan. I can't remember for the life of me where I started the Jedi Prisoner which allowed me to speak with Oteg and start Taral V.

jfahy
Stuck here as well. I got the prisoner quest from a Flashpoint Courier droid in the republic fleet. It tells me to go speak to Oteg on 'the Telos'. I thought Telos was the name of a starship, but I can't find that anywhere. So then I figured Telos must be a planet, but I've gone over the galactic map and didn't see it. I haven't set foot on Alderaan yet; probably will today. Hopefully enlightenment will hit me on the head when I arrive.
Eihnlazer
Theres more than 1 ship in the Republic fleet. You have to take a taxi ship from the station to the Telos wich is the capital ship of the fleet.
jfahy
Just found it. The answer, in even greater detail: When you first get to the Republic Fleet, you're on the big round thing called Carrick Station. From the elevator at the extreme east of the station, you can choose the Interfleet Transport option. Do that and you appear in the station's shuttle bay. In the middle of the shuttle bay is a taxi station, where one of the destinations you can select is the Telos.
JLapp
To the OP: If you have the jedi prisoner quest and can't get in, try dropping the quest and going to the droid on the main floor of the carrick station fleet near the elevator that goes to the shuttle area & the other flashpoint area. I had a situation where someone shared the quest to me but he had already talked to master oteg so I couldn't get into the room to talk to him and I couldn't get into the flashpoint either. Nedax
Quest is given by an NPC on the Carrick Station (the main area of the Republic Fleet). The entrance to the flashpoint itself is on "The Telos" which is another ship that helps make the Republic Fleet a fleet. As another poster mentioned, just take the elevator that normally goes to the flashpoints, but instead choose the Interfleet option instead. Enjoy! Despite the bugs I've encountered with the flashpoint it's my favorite so far.
Ithaki
I also had this problem. I was not able to enter the Taral V flashpoint. Resetting the quest allowed me to go back to the control room and restart the quest.

Zoam
MP-77 has moved to Bugtown on Balmorra. He is located on the platform directly west of the speeder.
bafardo
You get it from Oteg on the Telos, after you beat darth angral and go to Balmorra, you will find a droid just outside and to the left of the building you spawn in. The purple quest beacon will begin the quest with Oteg and the Jedi Prisoner Quest

AlrikFassbauer
Interesting late answer, indeed. I got the quest with level 35 I think from a courier droid on the fleet (not an astromech droid).I think I got it even much earlier ( level 25 ? ) with other characters. SteveTheCynic
Holy necro, Batman! And not even a useful necro, except for JKs, since my troopers, smugglers, and consulars never, ever, met Darth Angral.
Poong
Ok here is my step-by-step guide where you can start Taral V The Jedi Prisoner flashpoint on Republic side, then the Maelstorm Prison Flashpoint. (yep i also got lost ) If you do the story mode, the first time with this character do step by step as I wrote. If you only want to repeat it again, or change mission type (solo, tactical etc) skip to that part (step5 TaralV or step9 Maelstorm Prison) step 1. Go to Republic Fleet (you arrive at Carrick Station, the round starbase, press M to see map anytime if you are confused where you are. If you move your pointer on any elevator you will know it's name from the distance. There are two ships near Carrick Station, one of them is The Telos) step 2. How to get Taral V flashpoint mission the first time from MP-77 (Story purple mission) At Republic Fleet Carrick Station (main level) go to the Mission Departures ELEVATOR's entrance on the eastern side of the outer ring (between Supplies and Galactic Trade Market sections) few steps from the elevator's entrance there stands MP-77 droid , with purple mission sign above his head if you have never done this flashpoint with this character. He is the Taral V flashpoint mission announcer, but again only the first time. Speak with him and MP-77 sends you to meet Master Oteg (after a little holochat). MP-77 is only the flashpoint courier droid, to find your way easier to Master Oteg. You can get the same mission from Security Officer Minik at step4. step 3. Go to Republic Fleet: The Telos To get from Republic Fleet Carrick Station to Republic Fleet The Telos you can either quick travel to The Telos if you already discovered it, (QT to Telos Command Deck); if not yet discovered you have to walk: just enter and activate the Mission Departures elevator in front of you, choose Interfleet Transport level, exit elevator, go to the Republic Fleet Transport droid, and taxi/take shuttle to Telos Shuttle destination. You will fly there, arrive into Telos Shuttle Hangar. Enter elevator to Command Deck, and choose Telos Command Deck. step 4. Telos Command Deck, Master Oteg Either you flew or Quick traveled to Telos Command Deck and arrived to the Bridge head south, to the Situation Room. In front of it stands Security Officer Minik, if you didn't speak with MP-77 at step2 you can get the Taral V purple flashpoint mission from him too, in this case he got the purple mission sign above his head. Either from MP-77 or from Security Officer Minik get the mission, and then you can enter the Situation Room. Inside the Situation Room Master Oteg gives you the mission details, when finished he sends you to take shuttle to Taral V. step 5. objective: Shuttle to Taral V. ALSO repeating mission either in Solo mode or tactical mode. You stand at Republic Fleet The Telos, Command Deck, south section, outside of Situation Room (if not go there). On the opposite of Situation Room there is the Elevator to Hangar Deck, only few steps away from Situation Room and from Security Officer Minik. (It is NOT the Elevator to Fleet Shuttle Hangar, NOR any elevator in Carrick Station) Enter and use Elevator to Hangar Deck. step 6. L2-PN, choose Taral V mode, take shuttle When you exit the elevator there is L2-PN droid on your left, if you already spoke with Master Oteg then go pass L2-PN, but BEFORE you enter the flashpoint VERIFY, double-check you got the proper type of mission, press "L". If you are repeating this flashpoint and want to get solo or tactical mission speak with L2-PN, in this case there is a yellow mission triangle above it. Speak with L2-PN and choose normal (Tactical, team based) or Solo Flashpoint (Only you, your companion, and an assisting robot) If you got the WRONG TYPE of mission, for example you got the solo but you want to go in group/tactical mode, or you got tactical mode but want to go solo L2-PN droid can help you: just drop the nonpurple mission, and speak with L2-PN. If you change mission type you might have to reset your flashpoints to gain entrance: right click on your portrait and choose reset all flashpoints. step 7. Do the Taral V The Jedi prisoner flashpoint (either solo mode or with friends or using group finder) to change mission type exit and see step 6.) Enter flashpoint behind L2-PN, take shuttle, do flashpoint. Enjoy. step 8. when finished if you are doing the flashpoint the first time with this character you have to return to Master Oteg (Republic Fleet The Telos, Command Deck, south section, inside Situation Room,) just use elevator and there you are, enter the Situation room, speak with him. Master Oteg now gives you the Maelstorm Prison flashpoint mission. Yes this means you need to do Taral V before Maelstorm Prison story mode. Exit the Situation Room. (But you can get the normal mission without Taral V, just read step 9.) step 9. Maelstorm Prison (repeating and first time, solo or tactical) You stand at Republic Fleet The Telos, Command Deck, south section, outside of Situation Room (if not go there, see step3 and 4) On the opposite of Situation Room there is the Elevator to Hangar Deck, only few steps away from Situation Room and from Security Officer Minik. (It is NOT the Elevator to Fleet Shuttle Hangar, NOR any elevator in Carrick Station) Enter and use Elevator to Hangar Deck. exit elevator, go to the right. There is Deck Officer Bessel. BEFORE you enter the flashpoint VERIFY, double-check you got the proper type of mission, press "L". If you already got the Maelstorm Prison mission from Master Oteg just enter the flashpoint Maelstorm Prison behind him, take the shuttle. If you don't got the mission yet or you are repeating there is the gold mission triangle above Deck Officer Bessel speak with him, choose the mission type. if you got the WRONG TYPE of mission, for example you got the solo but you want to go in group/tactical mode, or you got tactical mode but want to go solo Deck Officer Bessel is your man: just drop the nonpurple mission, and speak with him. You might have to reset your flashpoints to gain entrance, right click on your portrait and choose reset all flashpoints. Then enter the flashpoint Maelstorm Prison behind him, take the shuttle. Do the flashpoint. step 10. Return to Master Oteg If you are in story purple mission after finishing the flashpoint you need to return to Master Oteg at Republic Fleet The Telos, Command Deck, south section, Situation Room, just use elevator and there you are, enter the room. I hope this wasn't confusing. May the sun of Shili warm your faces ! SteveTheCynic
@Ziz'zy: you might want to tone down the colours a little (and the purple is too dark to be easy to read).
Poong
Yes it's very colored, my dilemma was that this is a looong text, and many people will want to skip the details until run into problem, so that's why I choosed to use yellow and red for the important parts, maybe it's faster for them this way.... For shorter posts I will try to not use paintgun all over I'm changing the too dark color... ...maybe an iguana green with some azure sea blue... hmm.....
