SodaOfYoda
They're just markers. People use them to designate targets, usually for burn orders and CC distinction. Edited January 11, 2012 by SodaOfYoda

For you to mark the target. Its easier to identify the target than target calling when the mobs have the same name. They don't mean anything on their own, you need to tell what you intend the group to do with this marked target. amnie
btw, some people seem to miss this... you can also see the mark in the avatar of the mob, in case two mobs are standing so close to each other that the head mark is not easy to tell apart from that I think you should just ask in advance if people 'randomly' mark. usually when I use marks I explain to the group what they mean (basically 'hey tank, you concentrate on the mob with the shield' ) it's also helpful for raids I guess, for example to mark the main tank / main healer to make sure they are easily noticed ;D
Havokk
This is something a guild should standardise amongst themselves.
