Sundragon
I know what companion ranking does, but for the 4 non-companions (the Hutt scientist, the underworld trader, the Voss mystic and the Admiral) what does the additional influence actually do? First, I do know that it unlocks the data pad and I get crystal rewards for getting them higher. But, unlike the companions, they don't go out and fight or craft, so why am I leveling influence with them? Will it affect the story somehow going forward, like provide extra options for having high influence with them? I know on the Star Fortress, I occasionally find some object that is highlighted and it says I need to have a rank 10 with the Admiral to interact with it. But, does it change the way we fight the Star Fortress? Does it give a buff? I'm really perplexed as to WHY I am grinding influence with them. Anyone know? EvilNob
Looks like it just unlocks more quests and rewards. Here's the guide from Dulfy: http://dulfy.net/2015/10/21/swtor-alliance-specialists-and-companion-recruitment-guide/
JourrnoRush
They will most likely play an important role in the story. You are building an Alliance remember, to fight Arcann Eventually it will be used. Think Mass Effect
