Whats the deal with Heroic Space missions

Recommended Posts

In order to survive those missions, you have to moving constantly (more or less), which means being able to instinctively use your arrow keys and/or space bar to maneuver around the screen while you focus on specific targets. There are other issues that come up like missile management and when to shoot at what things, but if you're having trouble staying alive you need to move more actively.

Also, in stating you bought your grade 7 upgrades I'm assuming you mean all grade 7's, even the power conversion module and emp device. If not, the absence of some of the best pieces of ship gear can make it incrementally harder (depending on which piece(s) you are missing).

Like the above poster said, make sure you are always actively moving. I find using the WASD keys to move helps out a ton, and knowing when to pop your Electronic Warfare Pod and EMP are crucial for a lot of the missions. Many of the missions require Proton Torpedoes, which you can pick up from the Space Upgrade vendor for like, 50 fleet comms.

Other than that, trial and error, I have only been able to actually finish two of them (Lorta Escort and Far Craddle)

Two basic pieces of advice:

1. Unless you are already super skilled or talented (not apparently the case), you're going to die a lot learning the route. These mission involve a lot more necessary steering (your flight path takes you into objects if you don't move), a lot of "use your specials HERE and not THERE," and a lot of defensive flying to avoid gunfire. Focus on surviving and take note of when you have clean shots for your mission objectives. Once you learn the steps to take, the missions fly just like any other.

2. DO NOT TRY TO SHOOT DOWN THE TRASH FIGHTERS. There are only a few (very few) places where you need to gun down fighters to pull off the mission. When you are learning the missions, learn to completely ignore fighters. You'll be amazed how little damage you take if you are not trying to gun them down. In almost every case, fighters are designed to distract you from ROCK! or MISSION OBJECTIVE! or waste a bunch of shield right before a sith ship/jedi corvette pops out. Just let them fly by.

yes you need to have 90% of the grade 7 upgrades, I've never bothered to upgrade the electronic warfare pod, 1 because I couldn't find where it was sold and 2 I wasn't going to pay 500k for it current price on red eclipse server. The extra 5 seconds of not being targeted is nice for shield regen but not necessary for success. but without them it's nearly impossible.

as mentioned above first try to get your "wings" under you by doing impossible sector, and zosha advance, kalee fortification (reb) not sure what the imp version of those missions are called. once your comfortable there the heroic missions are like those but on 3x fast forward.

you can ignore the fighters for the most part as was mentioned as well but you can not and I repeat can not ignore the bombers! they will burn down your shields and armour quick. Only a few of the heroics have them but if they show up burn them down.

A little tip to is that you can fire your blasters through asteroids. so if your tracking the ship and it ducks behind something as long as your reticle is red it'll hit. missle's wont but blasters will. another tip is to make sure you only use blasters when you need to don't keep firing them your shields will not regen. If you can as well switch your power conversion module as well when needed. even for a couple of seconds as that can make the difference from having 20% shields to 40% when going through a mine field. you can however still fire your missle's while your shields regen, it'll only stop for the .25 seconds it takes to fire the missle.

also you must also use barrel roll (space bar) along with your WADS keys to fly the ship and your mouse to target.

some of the dodging is so tight that you need to use barrel roll to avoid it.

keep practicing and i'm sure you can do it! I may post video of my runs for refference, with just getting the main objectives and with all bonus'
