Because it's not.

Stealth classes get +15-20 on stealth levels, you get +30 on detection.

You see stealthers the same as before 5.0 as a slinger when they used sneak. Just that sneak now is a passive.

So yes, you see them later than before 5.0 without sneak, but you still see them. So it's not worthless.

Quick tip for those who don't know. A stealther won't be detected by a sniper if he stays behind him. Once you're detected the sniper will see you until you go away, but he won't be able to spot you if you stay behind

I've never seen a stealther with 30 stacks of this since 5.0. Not once.

I spot assassins and ops all the time if I'm guarding. It's fun to let noobs think they're up to something, but I've popped hunker down and given the rest of the team a heads-up. It's way different to guard a node these days than it was several years ago.
