Force Lightning REALLY needs to be removed from Lightning spec.

Using Force Lightning on cooldown in Lightning spec is the #1 most common noob mistake. So many MMO noobs play sorcs and don't do a rotation at all. Sorc DPS is bad enough already, if they do it severely wrong like that they will probably not even hit 5k. Force lightning needs be made madness only and removed from Lightning for the same reason it was removed from assassins, it is the only way to stop these completely hopeless people using it because 'it looks cool' or whatever. They get geared and ask to come to HM and then you wonder why easy bosses are enraging then you see the thundering blast and force lightning animations coming from the same sorc and everything is explained.

Well see it like that: at least you know 100% sure they are the issue when you see force lightning go off.

 

 

What do you think removing MORE ability will suddenly produce better player? Get serious, they will still not be good at their rotation. There are some use to it in solo pve since it roots weaks enemy, and up to where will you go with each AC to "help" people who clearly don't have (nor wish to acquire) the level to clear HM content?

 

Force Lightning is also one of the few dps ability availaible to the healers in pvp and some harder dps check HM fight like styrak where healer have to dps a ensure a smooth clear that isn't too ressource heavy.

 

Stop always trying to level the game DOWN, otherwise you'll see there is a limitless possibility of lowering that floor.

Or the same players could take 10 minutes to read a guide to learn how to play their class/spec.

 

Under this logic, why not take away all the abilities and just put one button on your bar called ''rotation''. Every time it comes off cooldown, press it again. Performs optimal rotation for your class. Easy.

Or instead of just continually removing abilities that are iconic, maybe make them useful. Lightning used to have a passive that made Force Lightning channel and tick twice as fast, essentially making it a 1 gcd ability. They should give that back to Lightning and remove the useless Shock proc. They could even keep the conditions the same, and instead of Shock doing 20% more damage to targets afflicted by CD, Force Lightning could channel and tick twice as fast on those targets. That would be something that would be cool to see.

rotation sure was more fun back in 2.0. More RNG, but when it lined up, holy hell **** melted.

Yeah the 3.0 changes really hurt this specs identity imo. Ever since then I have been advocating a restoration of the Lightning Barrage passive, or at least something that does something similar. I don't really understand why they removed it in the first place

You are just a jerk. PvP after the sorc/sage NERF is where it's used a lot, plus as stated by someone that KNOWS heals has it as and they don't get many attack spell's. You have a problem with players - you're a name caller - you're a 'know-it-all' You Are a Bully so take your bullying ways and yell at ppl in another game because new people DO USE THIS to learn - not to be called names and BTW you may as well yell at the creator of rock paper scissors to REMOVE THE ROCK because IT ALWAYS breaks the scissors.

Well the ultimate solution would be to have a rotation guide in the discipline window like WoW had in Pandaria because a lot of people just aren't even willing to read a guide. Doing something about the main ability that kills their DPS would be a good start though. Even if its just writing in the tooltip 'Does low damage' or something. If the game is going to focus on group content again it needs to do more actually in the game to tell people how to not suck at it. Arsenal mercs and snipers are usually fine but its ridiculous how many sorcs play it wrong. Edited by DarthZaul

I'd like to point out you've just wrote that people don't want to read guides, therefore we should implement a guide lol.

 

 

Actually merc and sniper, but especially merc are the classes I see people being the worse with right now. Its crazy the ammount of people who rolled a merc because its FOTM and expect it to be easy. Of course so long as you hit what light up you do a certain ammount of damage I guess.

 

But tbh, its not like its a widespread issue that lightning sorcs are using FL on cd lol. First, there is nearly no more lightning sorcs in any group I,ve been in. Not enough to warrant totally scrapping an ability that DOES have its use even for lightning, when you are smart about it (so obviously not in a boss dps rotation).

 

And "does low damage" in the tooltip wouldn't be very nice for Madness now wouldn't it?

 

Its a bad idea, case closed. Bads will always be bad, those who want to improve will seek advice and read the guides readily availaible on this forum or website like Dulfy's and improve, those who do not will just surprise you with another way they can totally be crap at this game. Saw a sorc run after crap with his lightsaber more than once :rolleyes:

 

Even the mass pruning they did with 5.0 was mostly uneeded. So what if some abilities had niche solo pve use, or just were fun to use even if not very efficient? Its easy enough to just...NOT use them while doing serious content.

 

Never saw an ability go "k, its cool what you are doing, but I'm activating myself now".
