Outright purchasing Rank 6 gifts has always been cost prohibitive.

Otherwise, rank 5 and rank 6 gifts from the Alliance and Command crates were the cheapest way to level companion influence to 50. Command crates will be gone in 6.0, leaving only Alliance crates.
Start making lots of invasions forces now.

If you ask me, they removed them on purpose. These crates were mainly used to get legacy gear and since the set bonus is no longer in the armorings this type of gear will be cosmetic only and thus deemed useless by the devs... so they removed them.

Another good chunk of gear gets removed from the game.... "thank" god we have the cartel market.

A good and fair question. As long as you can still hand in crates it's not a big issue for me, if we get something else instead.
If we cannot hand them in, I would like to know now as we are in the last 10 day before 6.0 and have lots across many servers and accounts in legacy banks. I would like to keep them for characters still levelling but if totally removed then need to hand in now. So an answer one way or the other would be nice. As it would takes me aty least several days to hand in them all.

Well the cosmetic gear not been removed from game is it? The gear will be available from fleet venders so will the pets and mounts from the crates. It's just changed from orange to blue gear but still legacy wide. Why the change of colour ? lol, no idea. On top of that there will be new cosmetic gear as drops in 6.0 in any case, so even if it was removed it's been replaced. Just have the choice of using it or deconstructing it for tech parts.

The crates are most likely being removed but a conformation of this really is not to much to ask, as it would be a simple Yes or No. If not removed there's nothing to stop new items been added to them to replace items removed. So could go either way.

There is much confusion here. The only gear being moved to “Spoils of War” vendors on the fleet for tech fragments are the cosmetic items that dropped in GALACTIC COMMAND crates. This thread is about (locked) ALLIANCE SUPPLY crates, which were mission rewards for planetary heroics and necessary to bring up the influence rank for alliance specialists and the planetary Star Fortress resistance members. And they appear to still drop but only if you are between 50-70. This thread is about obtaining final clarification about whether they are permanently going away for level 75s.

I also would like to know. My only interest is in playing Nautolans.

I've collected a small pile of crates playing a temporary character which I'm using primary to build up a pile of credits so I don't have to worry about that for a while, and can buy all the things I have to before my subscription runs out.

Since alliance reputation is character specific and I've no long-term in this current character, it seems wasteful to turn any in now. But if the non-character specific rewards are going to massively nerfed I may need to take that into consideration.

I have over 300 of each, and that's after getting every character I have to rank 10 with their specialists and setting aside enough for the characters who don't have access to rank up their specialists when they do. I'd really like to know if I need to burn through those crates this weekend. And I'd really like to know before the 11th hour unlike with the conquest notification that basically screwed almost everyone out of conquest for the week (except the mega guilds that get millions of points). Come on. We need a dev post on this.
