If the item you want to place can fit on that square, it will show up in the list of available decorations you've unlocked. Once it's placed, you can turn and slide it around. Every time I try to click on a purple tile (the big ones, covered with green tiles), it activates a green tile. I have even zoomed in as much as I can to I know I am clicking on purple. But nope, it goes to a green. Is there a secret I am missing? Rug have their own special place you place them. There is a little light beam coming out of the ground.
