No!, it's not lava

But it occurs a weird "art" effect

All decos are at the same level, but the troops are sinking, or the floor getting higher.

That sort of thing happens in many places. For an amusing variation, go onto the Fleet (Impside or Pubside) and go to the Cartel Bazaar area (take the north elevator on Pubside, south on Impside). There are yellow-orange stripes painted on the floor, right?

Wrong. They are not on the floor, but far enough above it that your feet clearly sink into them while being correctly on the floor.

But similar "standing in the floor" and "standing just above the floor" issues can affect your character as well, in many different places.

Yep, there are lots of places in the game where the floor "art" doesn't match with the floor "physics".
