Has anyone had an expereince in low-mid level flashpoints using companions as tanks?

 

I am wondering if they could act as substitute for missing roles in a group?

I have done everything through foundry using companions. Even did some with 2 companions but never with a comp as the tank always a healer and a dps.

I duo/soloed pretty much everything up to Colicoid. The mechanics in the instance (4manning guns/gate maze) pretty much require a full group.

Couple days ago me and 2 other randoms ran Athiss. Used one of the other guys companions for heals. Worked great.

yesterday i did Hoth Heroic + 4 with

 

sniper , sith marauder me (tank), en sorc and a healing companion

 

and with some CC and a bit of juggling with CC and interrupts

 

we managed to kill groups of 2 champs , 3 elites (1 patroller) , 2 troops

 

as long as you interrupt the commando champs their gun shots you are fine

 

 

but its really challenging and i was surprised that a companion could be that usefull

 

same as Jaesa williaam she can take quite a beating for a light armor class but than again she allready has more HP than me
