[Ideas] New Maps

So I feel that we should compile as many new map ideas as possible into one thread and then keep it alive as long as possible so bioware might notice it.

 

I'll start.

 

8v8 Dota map

This could take place on belsavis so you could have interesting clashing terrain. Jutting rock and ice formations could serve as the dividers in the jungle/tundra areas. Boss elite wampa/frostcat and aklay/sleen for minor buffs and a very strong elite Rancor for baron buff. Mid would be a bridge made of stone over a ravine that has some lava spots poking out. (high elemental dmg if you get knocked into them). This would make it so mid would be range centric like in league but disruptor tanks like juggernauts and assassins could still do well if played right. NPC waves would be 3 troopers and a medic. The medics would have little health and stand a bit behind the troopers. Troopers, when in range of the towers, would use a portable cover that blocks a significant amount of tower dmg. Other then their defense against turrets they aren't terribly strong so your team has to protect them. Points gained over time, dealing damage, healing, damage reduction, killing NPCS can be used to buy permanent buffs (this in place of buying items) some buffs will be "meta" buffs like "if you have X and Y active, Z happens" so instead of combining items to form stronger items, you make stronger buffs.

 

 

8v8 Assault/Defend Space Station

In this map 8 players would defend a space station. Much like the speeders in aldrann people can click either a turret control or spaceship fighter. However, there are only 4 quadrants available for control since 1 player would control 1/4th the stations guns (8 guns per person just like in our current space missions). This means they would have considerable fire power but limited in their range and scope. The other 4 players would choose fighters and go out to focus on engaging the enemy. Fighters would have high maneuverability and speed. On offense, 8 players would attack the space station. 4 players would choose the fighters and the other 4 the bombers. The fighters on offense are exactly like the ones on defense, fast and highly maneuverable. However, the bombers are more sluggish and have a slow rate of fire. But they have missiles which is the only thing that can damage the shield generators. So between the fighters trying to shoot each other down, offense fighters trying to clear out the turrets and defense fighters kill the bombers... You end up with a lot of death. Re spawn timers for a turret is about the same as a player, same with ships. The game ends when all the shield generators are destroyed and the station thus explodes.

(i think this idea has merit because all the models/animations are already in game)

Add: 24v24 Balmora Trenches

This warzone would grant wz/valor throughout the match because it would most likely not end quickly and might go on for days. The goal of the map is to push and destroy the enemies base. However, there are multiple layers to the enemies defenses. The center of the map is more or less cratered. There are no standing turrets or rail guns for either team to utilize. However, once one team successfully takes mid field, the first of 3 enemy base nodes because assault-able. (team fortress 2). The first of the 3 enemy bases is lightly armored, maybe one ion canon and two rail guns. couple of places to take cover. The next base is more armored and the final base is a fortress. While your rez moves up with you as your team takes more nodes it doesn't change the fact the other team will most likely be slaughtering you at their last base. So if they manage to regain ground and momentum, once they push you past mid field and take it, they can assault your bases which are constructed the same way. This back and forth will be a lot like vanilla WoWs 3 day alterac valleys. (which many people want)
