Jamtas
No Grind. Just likely meet with an NPC on hutta who gives you something to deliver to another NPC on Nar Shadda who then requires you to complete a heroic mission each day for 7 days, then return once your worthiness is proven from this feat to collect an item to deliver back to NPC on Hutta who now tells you to go to cantina on Odessan and signal Mako ...who then wants to see your "manhunter" title to join your alliance Edited January 7, 2016 by Jamtas

Vhaegrant
There is a terminal on Odessen that allows you to get some of your old companions back. On my Bounty Hunter it listed all of the companions apart from Skadge and Blizz. While I haven't used the terminal for my BH, I have on my Trooper to get Tanno Vik back. Dashtardly
Like the title says and also does it include a grind I really hope it dosn't I have not played my BH thru KoFTE yet but have played several others and have used the companion locator terminal at the end to get the (most important to that toon) companions back. So for Mako, most likely a temporary loss until you complete the current KoFTE Chapters (and then use the terminal). I personally won't WAIT for her recovery quest/chapter. No doubt, BW has plans for each companion - some will play a chapter role (i.e., Kaliyo appears as "Firebrand" in the new upcoming chapter) and some will have a simple recovery quest (e.g., Xalek, Qyzen Fess, Talos Drelik, Pierce) or maybe a little more elaborate (e.g., Dr. Loken). I was of the same mind. I need to take back some of my previous comments, though. I went over to FE and then I hit the flipping roof. I assumed my SW ship was gone. then I went to check my stronghold and all my old comps were holo'd out. I made an assumption that they would stay they way. but once I re-summoned them the stronghold versions returned to their physical form. I am fairly certain I can still gift them and gain affection. Also my ship is back but now clear of everyone. In the end I got some of what I wanted. On the other hand I respect your choices. you should do what you feel is right, of course. I've run 4 through so far, 2 mains and 2 alts (2 SW, 1 Sorc, 1 JK). I've seen what is going on. The fact that Vette isn't anywhere to be found nor is Mako, led me to make my decision. We're going into the 10th chapter and they're going to make us wait 2 to 4+ months to get our favorite companions back really puts a damper on the game for me. I do not want to use the insta-return either. This is another reason that I've not taken my main Guardian Knight into it because I always travel exclusively with Kira. If she's back come chapter 10, I'll take him in, but not until then. I just think they way they're doing this is simply stupid. What I really hope is they will return and not be like what's happened with Vik. I've seen nothing to the contrary, but they never announced him never being available after you meet him. Their secrecy in how they are doing things smacks of something unsettling and disingenuous in my opinion.

The entire point of which is that events unfold as the story is told, not that everything is given away up front - kind of defeats the purpose. It's not disingenuous, that is a ridiculous thing to say. You've been told you can get your old companions back using the terminal if the big bad story is too scary to play through, but instead you want it ruined for everyone else. Why are people so freaking afraid of change?
Ghost_Spectre
Why are people so freaking afraid of change? Son, if I were afraid of change, I'd dropped this overly-bugged nearly broken excuse of a game and moved on. Please, take your assumptions and go some where else and prattle on. I don't have time for your childish mockery. The rest of your bombastic diatribe wasn't even worth noting. Nice try there White Knight. Yet another one for my hall of shame to go into. The-Kaitou-Kid
I do not want to use the insta-return either. ...why? I mean, your choices are your business so do what makes you happy, but from the sounds of things you'd benefit from using the terminal. Given how I've always played my main (a Sentinel, ironically enough) I've gotten used to having Doc or Kira along for the ride. I don't hate the KOTFE companions at all (I actually like Lana as a companion quite a bit), but they're additions not replacements. None of them could really replace Doc or Kira for me and I wanted them back ASAP. So I used the terminal and have them back. Unless the terminal is flat out lying, using it has no effect on the story. You'll still "reunite" with them later, but using the terminal allows you to use them as you would have otherwise had they not been "out of contact" following the events of Chapter I. So it's not preventing you from getting their portion of the story when they're "officially" reintroduced story wise, it's just giving them back so you can travel with them as you have prior to KOTFE. When you start a reply with a pathetic attempt to impose authority, you lose all credibility. Well hopefully BW won't ruin your life by removing one of your pixel friends. Too late. It was too late the day it launched and the first person got far enough to promote T7 from stumpy metal dude who helps out by hacking computers to actual companion, somewhere on Zakuul. So all this terminal does is that you see the companions standing in the base or getting them as companions for solo stuff but you dont have them on your ship or have a story with them after you started chapter one of KOTFE. PorsaLindahl
Annnd if you do this you may miss out on any achievements you may earn by waiting to get them through the story. Wrong. If they're crucial to the story (meaning if they have, or will have, an alert) you can't get them back from the terminal. But getting them back from the terminal does not integrate them into the story. It allows you to use them outside of the TFE story. They'll probably be disabled when an alert pops for them, and you'll have to do their alert mission to recover them through the story. It's like those of us with Nico. On my latest character through, I had used the token and had him early. I still got the alert from Hylo to go recruit him and did the mission. The rest are in their normal places. Kira on the bridge, Rusk at the top of the stairs, Doc in medical, and Scourge in the cargo bay.
