DPS Leaderboard 2.0+

By posting parses in the thread, you are stating that you have read the following rules:

Updated: 10/02/2013

Rules

1. Must be combat logged on the level 55 Operations Training Target MK-5.

2. Must be combat logged over at least a 5 minute duration. Endings may be cut out as long as the parse time remains over 5 minutes still. Beginning CANNOT be clipped: logs must state something like "Claimed enters combat." Actual logs may NOT be editted. Use Torparse's drop down tool to do so.

3. Class buffs/stims/adrenals are permitted.

4. Another player is not allowed to assist with Bloodthirst/Inspiration, armour debuff, etc during the logging.

5. Nightmare Pilgrim buff is not permitted.

6. No use of Legacy abilities or cybertech grenades, etc.

7. Only combat logs from http://www.torparse.com/ will be accepted. All claims must be accompanied by a link to their parse.

7. When posting please use the following format: Character Name-Class-Spec -DPS.

Example: Treehugger-Guardian-Focus 5/5/36-2000

9. Prestacking buffs using in-combat related moves is not allowed. However, buffs that can be replicated in an operations setting is permitted. For example, scoundrels respeccing from scrapper to dirty fighting to preload flachette round is permitted.

10. Two counterpart parses from the same person/account are not permitted. For example, I cannot have both my sniper and my gunslinger on the same top 5 leaderboard. Additionally, one person may not have multiple specs on the same leaderboard. You can however have two parses up from separate (advanced) classes.

11. As of 8/11, all new parses are required to have an AMR profile. Older parses will not be required to update theirs.

*Ensuring that all of these rules are followed can be difficult endeavor so please post with reasons if you have concerns about a claim's validity.

Parses with some discrepancies and/or more thorough checking will have an asterisk assigned to them.

Here I will be noting the various classes in descending order of DPS and as a percentage of the number one spot. This list will only serve as a point of reference against the other classes ON THE COMBAT DUMMY. In actual raid settings, many classes will rise or fall. The presense of armor debuffs, inspiration, executes and other variables present in raid settings makes this an arbitrary list only useful for the purposes of this thread.

Claimed - Gunslinger - 3723.58 DPS - 110.81%

Evrydayimsmggln - Sniper - 3360.34 DPS - 100%

Gorband - Marauder - 3358.67 DPS - 99.95%

Pizza'dah'hutt - Mercenary - 3310.14 DPS - 98.51

Invinc - Operative - 3248.72 DPS - 96.68%

Handcuff - Sorcerer - 3200.10 DPS - 95.23%

Mruniverse - Vanguard - 3185.31 DPS - 94.71%

Kishezkun - Juggernaut - 3136.11 DPS - 93.3%

M-knightrider - Shadow - 2960.84 DPS - 88.11%

DPS Leaderboard: Honorable Mentions

Q. What is this section?

A. This section is an area for people to recognize and note how the other specs are fairing against each other. With leaderboards like Commando/Mercenaries dominated by one spec, people are curious how Pyro/Assault and the Hybrid is faring. This is the section to recognize those.

Q. What parses can go up?

A. ONE parse will be recognized PER unique spec. Making some arbitrary numbers up, take the 5/18/23 Gunslinger/Sniper hybrid spec for example. If there is one hybrid already recognized on the leaderboard, then no hybrids will receive an honerable mention here. Additionally, changing the spec in a miniscule manner such as to 4/19/23 or something similar will not count as a large enough change.

Q. What are the rules?

A. The same as the Top 5 Leaderboard

Q. I'm soooo close, can I PLEASE be put on honorable mentions?

A. No.

Thank you for keeping this going.

My parse, however, is wrong.

This is the correct link

Fixed. A large number of updates were made in a very short amount of time so please do look for errors.

By the way Carlenux, at what percent crit probability does a scoundrel/operative need to not have energy problems in dirty fighting?

Now that guilds are clearing nim SV, do we need to bump this up to gear lvl 75s? I know my merc won't see a 75 main hand or offhand soon, and I know some people already probably have it.

I was just wondering if the parses posted in 75s should have a flag or not.

Another idea: for specs that get pushed off the top 5 for their class, could we have some sort of "Honorable Mention" or "top parses for other specs" so we can continue to track how they are performing? For example, Gyronamics had a 2800+ parse with Assault Commando, and I think there were some parses in the 2600-2700 range for AP/Tactics and Pyro/Assault PTs/VGs. I know these are not chart toppers, but it would be nice to know how all the DPS specs are currently performing. Edited by SheikShmoove

It should all sort itself out in a few weeks when more people have more KD gear. Until then, it's mostly going to be "who got gear and parsed earliest", but the last thread was like that for a long while too.

It is under consideration and I'm thinking of a non-cluttering way of doing so.

Another idea: for specs that get pushed off the top 5 for their class, could we have some sort of "Honorable Mention" or "top parses for other specs" so we can continue to track how they are performing? For example, Gyronamics has a 2800+ parse with Assault Commando, and I think there was some parses in the 2600-2700 range for AP/Tactics and Pyro/Assault VGs. I know these are not chart toppers, but it would be nice to know how all the DPS specs are currently performing.

Unfortunately, this won't happen. While I do agree that such specs should have some recognition, this is not the thread to be doing so. This thread is a leaderboard, not a representation of every spec. The place for recognizing different specs should be in the class forums.

Now that guilds are clearing nim SV, do we need to bump this up to gear lvl 75s? I know my merc won't see a 75 main hand or offhand soon, and I know some people already probably have it.

Eventually the boards will be "most accurate" several weeks from now when ~everyone is in 75s. Until then people can post parses for the fun of it. If you want to delve deeper into the parse and ignore the big red number, you will find that DPS is actually irrelevant. When comparing logs of the same spec, you can see the more important things such as # of hits or # of ability activations and that is what people need to look at instead of DPS numbers imho.

Parse A has X number of ability activations over 5 minutes and did 3200 DPS

Parse B has the same X number of ability activations over 5 minutes and did 3000 DPS because he is undergeared

for all intents and purposes both people "played just fine". Once in a while the stars align and you see someone post something like:

Parse C, which has the same X number of ability activations over 5 minutes, but had 15% more crit chance and did 3600 DPS.

Parse C did not do something extremely "pro" compared to Parse A and B. He just had more lucky crits.

Parse A is not better than Parse B, he just had more gear. These things people can see if you look past the DPS numbers and spend a little time figuring out # of ability use or ability activations all of which are available in the Log section of torparse. Turning these threads into a i have bigger DPS #s boards i think defeats the greater purpose of these threads. It can help people improve by pointing out what they need to do more, or what they are doing less. This is why i dont think there needs to be a flag for people in 75s and why the focus should be less on DPS #s (which stands out) but more on ability usage (which does not have a # attached to it) when parsing on the training dummy.

Just an opinion :o

Oh, wow, you're checking for the best segments for us? Thanks so much, really appreciate it!! :-)

Whoever is in charge of the thread checks the first 5 minutes of every parse to make sure you are telling the truth. Forex, OP sees Combat started at 00:00:00, so they select from that to 00:05:00. If they find the DPS is either greater or lesser than what you claim, they will let you know. Also, keyword is first 5 minutes, not the 5 minutes that has the highest DPS.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up.

About gear discussion: I have two 75 armorings and one 75 modification, rest is 72, pretty much BiS, I think.

About judging parses: I'd say APM, gear and crit luck are not the only things to take into account. You can still mess up rotation or get lucky/unlucky procs...

Smart comment up there ^, he is right of course... like ive always said, most top 1 rankings are always that lucky dude who got lucky crit % above the rest, or got the crits in the "right time"... so i always say anything thats 50-150 maybe 200 under top parse (unless top parse is like 2700 i guess) should be a good parse, maybe some stuff that could be improved, but a lot of it could be gear or Luck too.

Ya, correct. But it's also important to bear in mind that (at least in my class) a high APM is certainly aspect but not all. Doesn't account for rotation.

And as a Carnage Marauder for example, 4/36/6 will invariably have slightly lower APM than 5/36/5 - which will have berserk up more often thus increase APM (but in some or possibly most raid fights, 4/6 is better).

Short question:

Why does the Saboteur/Engineering-tree stand alone? Whats the thing with this tree? Is it just bad in realistic combat and does only dominate on the dummy, or is it just that other Snipers/Slinger not running this tree would be too bad to be listed here in comparison to the named tree? :)
